how to make spring jump and water effect?

How can we make spring jump as in mario game

and how can we give water effect like when player falls in the water there should be some effect.

It is simply on collision with those object you initiate actions such as:

• jump
• play spring animation

or

• spawn water splash
• reduce player speed to half as he is falling through water
