I Suggest Player having the 8-movement behavior...
And for the ball, Bullet or Custom Movement will suffice. Don't use physics unless really needed for performance will be at risk especially for mobile games.
* For bullet to not bounce and move forever,
1) Select Ball Sprite
2) Look for the
-->Properties Bar
----->Bullet
------->Acceleration
3)Set Bullet Acceleration to negative e.g. (-20) or (-10) to make it decelerate overtime.(to slow down ball)
