[PLUGIN] Video

Is there a way to make a video available to all browsers?

It would be cool if this plugin worked like the audio plugin, having the same video in different formats and the browser picks the correct one.

I've been trying to find a way to identify the browser and load a different video via events. But if it's possible, I couldn't find it.

Update:

Now there has 3 sources setting in properties table since video in html5 only support 3 kinds of video types(MP4,WebM,Ogg)

User could assign these 3 sources setting for each kinds of video types.

You might try Browser plugin to get current browser at runtime.

IF you can specify multiple sources for a video, that's enough.

Working as it should..and now's the trick:

does anybody run it on iOS within phonegap, cocoonJS?

I have no success, even having correct video format for ipad, read all topics related to that and much more on HTML5 vid tag

Uh, I'm not sure. This plugin only had been tested on browser.

This plugin works fine.

But is there a way to do a fade out to black when we skip it?

seems no object nor layer can overlay video.

Sorry, I have no idea how to put other object before video object.

harrisyu rexrainbow : the solution is to use the plugin for <img>, and give it a z-index above the video.

Edit : by the way, it's going to be slow, because the CPU/GPU pair doesn't like to composite an immutable DOM object over a changing one (the video).

Pode is right. You could first put a video object, then put an image object (which created by Pode). The image object will be placed front of video object at runtime.

Update:

These are provided by —

• Add "expression:SourceWidth", "expression:SourceHeight" to get source video width and height
• Add "condition:On play", it triggered when start playing (after pause).
• Add "action:Stop" to stop playing.
• Add "action:SetVisible" to hide this video object.
• Add JP Deblonde (Pode) to "author".

Would this work for a Myst style game or is better to simply split a whole video into several individual sprites and soundfiles?

This idea is interesting, but as far as I know, it's hard to "sync" the frames with your triggers by video.

It's work or not depends on how precise you want your game looks like.
