About the thing that you mentioned, it happens because this game only has one digit numbers and when you are going higher to two digits, it gets somehow reset. For example if you are at 7 and eat number 4, you should be at 11. But because the game only has one digit numbers (from 1 to 9), your number will instead change to 2. It is intentional because we are teaching one digit numbers to kids.
