  • Hi! I started a new project not long ago and an early version is already available on Game Jolt.

    Sea Frenzy is a small action game where you are a small fish in the ocean. What do you do? You need to feed and survive!

    Features in this early version:

    • eat and grow to swallow even bigger fish!
    • one event where you need to dodge enemy fish
    • leaderboards to see who is the best fish in the ocean

    Features coming in future updates:

    • multiple randomized events and bosses
    • achievements, who doesn't love trophies?!
    • controller support - or did someone already invent the transparent finger?
    • progression system to unlock new goodies for your fish

    The game started as very small project to practice some new things in Construct 2 but gradually grew as the "feature creep" (tm?) started to haunt me.

    But I have a list of features and things to add for the final release. If everything goes well future updates may add more content.

  • glerikud I will try it.

    So far I tested it in preview on Edge/Chrome on PC and via LAN Preview on iPhone and Android Phone. And its in the Play Store as Alpha and when I download it with my Android phone its the same problem, text is invisible most times.

  • It's still happening on Android. But iOS and PC (Chrome/Edge) never had this problem.

    Text is sometimes visible but most times its not so it's not the text object size? :-/

  • It seems there won't be a new version anytime soon?

    I found this gamejolt plugin and it has achievements, leaderboards and data storage. I will try how it works.

  • I just uploaded it and when I try to update it I get this error: Could not find file 'D:\FromC\V4Arcade\v4arcade\temp\48276\game.zip'.

    seems it was caused by an incomplete upload of a new game. I cancelled it and could update my game. But after updating its still showing the old game. I tried another browser to check if its just a cache problem but its still the old version and not the updated one.

    /update: I deleted the old game and uploaded a new version. But now it shows I have 2 games but when I click on it https://www.scirra.com/arcade/game-mana ... ction=live there is nothing shown, just an empty table. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt=":roll:" title="Rolling Eyes">

    The new version has leaderboards in (on death submit score to "Highscore" leaderboard) but it does not seem to work. Any hints how to implement it?

  • Thanks! I had another idea with works great with layer opacity. All rays are on a layer and I just set opacity to opacity.self+1*timescale. This preserves the current opacity of each ray and the sine effect while showing/hiding the layer.

    I tried to implement your idea but I had so many garbage in the code (old / disabled) that it did not work in a reasonable time. But it should be working and I will use it the next time I add new god rays where I cant just add them on a new layer.

    Its much faster and easier with the layer.

  • Hi. I added some god rays (just a white rectangle with transparent gradient) and added a sine for opacity. But when I try to fade in and out the sine effect is stopped during the fade in and out transitions. Does anyone know a workaround for this so the current opacity is maintained during the fade out effect? And during fade in no opacity changes are made until the fadein is completed.

    I experimented with some other solutions like events testing for the current value and cycle position (sine) but I could not fix it yet.

  • Hi. My new game has background music with Tag "BG" and when a pickup is found a second music with tag "PowerUp" is played. But I can hear only the first played music file in Safari and Chrom on my iPhone 6 with iOS 10. I used some actions to reduce the sound of the "BG" tag when playing the powerup music or stop "BG" and start a new music file with the same tag but I can't hear anthing. Only the first loaded file seems to work. Does anyone know a workaround for this?

    I need to test it on Android later but it works fine on Desktop Edge/Chrome. Seems to be an iOS problem.

    I am working on a game right now and I tried to add leaderboards but it seems you cant create one without uploading the game first. But the game is not finished yet. Is there no way to add a game without uploading it? Or is it not "live" after uploading automatically?

  • I removed all adds and I hope construct 3 fixes this. 🙄
