  • Hello guys, I want to ask question regarding action that involve same object but different in instance value.

For example: I make one ball which have instance value "color". When the instance value is set to "red", the color become red. "Blue" become blue.

The question is I want the red ball to destroy the blue ball when colliding.

    Is that possible?

    Thanks!

  • Free version is crucial<img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> . I started learning and loving C2 with free edition a year ago until I became early adopter (which is sadly done before I joined up the forum, so no badge for me).

My latest tutorial (in Indonesian) also written in C2 Free Edition in order to be as beginner-friendly as possible.

  • Pretty interesting. +1 for the tutorial. <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Try Construct 3

  • I recall rexrainbow has plugin for that. If I'm not mistaken it is called rex_move.

Maybe you can check it out. I havent try it so I cant tell if that is what you need.

  • rexrainbow Hmmm, it still don't work here. I use the example from your post, and directly export it without altering anything. When I tried to open the index.html it only show blank white page.

I use C2 R.114 Standard early adopter. Firefox ver 18.

Btw, I install the plugin from your App Repo. There are new updates for Scenario, I will try it again after updating.

Edit: Works well with the latest update. Thanks a lot rex! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • rexrainbow No problem with AJAX after all. I still need to edit the CSV with notepad, but it is still better than editing inside C2 using copy-paste method. Thank you very much for your help rex! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • rexrainbow I'm still unable to make it works. I've attached 2 capx, one with AJAX and other without. Using AJAX, it keeps showing error line 324 or something.

Without AJAX it runs like a charm, but it must use rex_function. Using official plugin make the text not appear when exported.

I'm sorry to bother you. I am trying to make tutorial to use Scenario plugin (in Indonesian, with free version), and I need to cover the use of AJAX with this plugin. Thanks.

  • rexrainbow Sorry to bother you, but can you please show the example of how using AJAX with Scenario? I have read some article in this site regarding using AJAX, but I still can't make it works.

    What I do:

Import csv file from Project Bar -> Files

On start of layout, Request object file with AJAX

    On completed AJAX -> ???

    Thank you.

  • rexrainbow Thanks a lot for your response <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> I never though about using AJAX. Does that mean I don't need to replace the " to "" if I use AJAX?

  • rexrainbow Thanks for this excellent plugin <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" /> . I have a question regarding the CSV file. I have tried making CSV file in Excel, Google Docs, and Open Office; none of which give me acceptable format for this plugin. Major problem lies in the apostrophe "", some text get it and some not. For now I use Notepad++ to make and edit CSV file manually.

My question is how do you make compatible CSV file for this plugin with spreadsheet program?

    Thank you very much! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • GamerGon Thanks for your concern, I will make a new thread as soon as I can test my game in Android since I actually have no intention to publish it in iOS. As for the problem, I think it is more related to object count and sprite numbers.

My background is composed of individual objects, like trees, houses, lamps, etc. All separated so it must give an impact to performance. The background was also created like: One very long layout filled with all separated objects that formed the background. I don't think this is the most efficient way, but it is indeed the easiest. The object count is around 200-250 for each layout (I have 6 similar layout).

Construct 2 counts all objects in the layout, doesn't it? So, although the objects are not visible they are still counted. I think this might be one reason. What do you think about it?<img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

I also doesn't use any third party plugin. The plugins that are used: mouse, keyboard, touch, audio, sprite, tiled object, and appmobi. Nothing fancy.

I decided to give CocoonJS a shot. At default state it crashed just like in AppMobi. After deleting a great deal of sprites (all background object, some bosses and enemies) it finally works. However, in appMobi still no luck.

My conclusion is, maybe it crashes because of having too many different sprite objects even tough they are low res.

In case you want to see the said game: marketjs.com/game/projectgatoteps1

Tomorrow I'm going to friend's house to borrow an Android phone. I'll tell you the result soon. Thanks a lot! <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • GamerGon I have tried to remove all sprites leaving only player sprite but still no luck. I also have tried removing all sounds and text object. I wonder if it is bug in iOS AppLab, that app haven't been updated since July. Well, I guess I need to get my hand on Android AppLab to see how it fare there. Thanks!
