  • There's no point trying to hide things from the console. If the user knows how to use a debugger, they can access everything anyway. Don't worry about it. Script minification is a much more effective barrier to stop people snooping in your code, but it's not bulletproof, and nothing is, unless you want to spend all your time in a DRM arms race.

  • You are looking for the wrong solution. Downgrading your project to an older version will cause more problems than it solves.

    It's not clear what you mean. It could in fact be working normally. Can you explain more about what this problem is exactly?

  • It works for me and as far as I'm aware it is working for everyone else too, which suggests the problem is on your end, perhaps something to do with your connection, firewall, network configuration, browser extensions interfering, or something else. You can also always do a manual offline build with the Cordova CLI.

  • It should work. It's hard to say more without seeing your project.

  • The original question mentions optimization, but includes have nothing to do with performance. They're for organisation.

    You can think of an include as being like copy-pasting the contents of another event sheet there, but keeping things better organised.

  • In general, you cannot open projects in older versions of Construct. In this case you've used a new feature of the Pin behavior, which makes it impossible to open in prior versions, before that feature was added.

    Why can't you just keep using r197.2?

  • I still haven't managed to reproduce this but I made a speculative change in r199 to try to make sure the dimmer for dialogs is always removed. It would be useful to know if anyone can still reproduce the problem in r199.

  • Back in 2015 when WebStorage was originally replaced with Local Storage in Construct 2, it was noted that they aren't compatible:

    WebStorage uses a different storage backend behind-the-scenes - one which is slower, has a very low capacity, and loses data types. Local Storage is faster, has much higher capabity, and preserves data types. You sure left it a long time to upgrade!

  • Please report any issues to the issue tracker following all the guidelines. Issues only mentioned on the forum, or including as few details as this, will not be investigated.

  • Construct renders with WebGL, which is basically OpenGL, providing native-grade graphics capabilities. From what I've seen over the years, anyone having performance issues is generally maxing out the hardware rather than running in to any kind of limits in Construct. You still have the same hardware limits no matter what software you use, so in that sense Construct is as good as the hardware.

  • Construct 3 already works offline, even when you use it from the browser. There is no need to download it. You can also use the "Install as app" option in Chrome to get an icon on your desktop.
