  • Did you get the 96mb figure from the tool in the other forum ('what's your video hardware')? If so, that's very very little even given the fact the tool grossly overestimates physical VRAM. What actual video card is it? Look up the spec, and if you have 32mb or less of on-board VRAM, you probably have too old and limited a card to run Construct. You could also try updating your video drivers.

  • Maybe this weekend, I've been really busy recently though I'm afraid!

  • You do not have permission to view this post

  • Yeah, you can get them practically for free, like 1.50.

  • Welcome to the forums! Out of interest, where did you hear about Construct from?

Don't forget to give yourself the best shot at learning Construct well, try the tutorials, and read up on the Wiki documentation!

  • I found the making groups you talked about, but can I move previously created events into the group?

Just select the events you want (using the 'margin' to the left of the event), and drag them in. To add a new layout, right click the application in the project bar, and click Add Layout. You can use system actions to move between layouts, and that acts as levels. You can also use separate event sheets to organise your events, and include them in other event sheets, allowing a write-once, use-anywhere solution.

  • Really? The IDE has protection on its file saving. Before it writes anything to disk from your .cap file at all, ever, it verifies it can also successfully load it, so in theory, it's impossible to save a file that cannot also be loaded. But it's possible that code is being circumvented somehow.

If you're both using a plugin that has broken edittime serialization (eg. if you made a mistake in one of your custom plugins), that could potentially randomly corrupt .cap files.

  • Are you putting a backslash at the end of the path? C:\foo\bar is ambigious (could be a file named 'bar' in folder 'foo', and fail to find it, so use the directory 'foo' instead), but C:\foo\bar\ definitely refers to 'bar' as a folder.

  • It doesn't look like a sampling issue, because there are glitches. I'm guessing you're using the 0.99.3 testing release which is broken, so you probably want to use the last stable build, 0.98.9, or wait for the next stable build (which hopefully will be 0.99.4!)

  • Nobody is trading with a business under those names, so they're not trademarks! Just like both Firefox and Internet Explorer can call a feature tabbed browsing, since neither of them are called the "Tabbed Browsing" browser.

Anyways, like Davio said, what would inverting an action do?? If you want, you can 'toggle' it which disables it, but it's only applicable to conditions, because it makes sense to say "condition NOT met" rather than "condition met".

  • It works in subevents, but not as the first subevent, because it has to follow another event of the same nesting level.

'Else' also cannot follow a trigger - there's a bug where if it does follow a trigger, it actually is acting as an else to the first non-trigger event before it in the event sheet

  • Hmm, I thought it already had a timeout must've gone wrong!
