Try setting the Sprite Font color to white. By default it filters to black.

That thread is over a year old. Any problems it may have been referring to will have long since been fixed. Construct 3 does work offline! It really does, believe it or not, actually work offline. If there is some kind of problem that prevents it working offline, please report an issue here: github.com/Scirra/Construct-3-bugs/issues However as far as we are aware it is working fine offline for everybody.

Construct 3 does work offline! You can also choose "Install as app" from the menu in Chrome.
