  • Hello there,

I've been checking out some capx samples and did some reading on tutorials and forums but have not been able to fully understand it yet and adapt it to my specific case.

So hence I'm asking it here on the forum.

When the aircraft shoots bullets and hits the T72 5 times the T72 is destroyed. But currently it destroys ALL the tanks that are spawned every x seconds. I have a global variable 'T72health'.

This is the bit I have and think needs change?

I know I have to pick instances but I just don't understand how to implement it.

    Thanks for any help.

    Regards R

I can post more bits if necessary.

  • Thanks man, got it to work using your sample.

    Thanks for your help!

    Regards - R

  • Hi Jomnitech,

thanks man! That works well. I'm currently trying to figure out the formulas. My shadow image is 75x72 pixels and I'm not sure what the numbers in the formula mean or *do*. So my shadow is a bit skewed. Where did you get the numbers? 200, 40, and 500? And the 3 and 5?

I'd like the shadow to move to the top more when moving the plane, but haven't figured out how to do it yet. I fiddled with the numbers but got unsatisfying results.

    Regards

  • Hey Jomnitech,

    exactly like that! Thanks.

Only also have the height changed too when moving?

So that it'll scale in width and height at the same time?

And if possible, how do I make the shadow still 'follow' the plane when the plane moves around? So that I get that 'distance' effect.

How do you know all this coding? What to use and where to put it? I'm still learning but formulas confuse me a bit. How'd you learn it?

    Thanks.

  • Hello,

I'm making a game where the player controls an aircraft with arrow keys.

Now I'd like to know how to get the shadow of the aircraft to become smaller as I press the arrow key up, and bigger again when the aircraft is moved down.

The aircraft is bound to the layout so the shadow should stop increasing and decreasing in size when it reaches the layout border.

I've already set the the shadow to always move with the aircraft.

So anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks!! - R

  • Hi,

thanks for your reply, but changing the background angle of motion to 180 doesn't seem to work. If you can get it done, perhaps you could show me how to do it? Or have a capx file?

    Thanks!

  • Hello,

    maybe a silly question,

I've been using the autorunner events to make my background scroll infinitely, but it's scrolling left instead of right. I tried modifying the bullet speed to a negative number but then my background disappears alltogether. Anyone know how to get this done?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards R

  • I want to simulate spraying paint over a flat area, is it possible to do this with Construct 2?

For example, you'll hold down the mouse and as you move over the white area the spray can will spray colored paint over the area. When it's all covered up, level complete. Is it possible to create this and most importantly - how? Is it difficult?

I think I'll need some sort of masking effect, like Flash has.

    Thanks!

  • The art is really impressive. Perhaps a 1-player mode would be nice, most people don't play like that you have now.

Really like that 'arcade' view as well, like you're actually looking at a game machine. Good job.

  • I was just wondering, why not make your sprites unique, currently you used assets that already exist. I think it would definitely help create a more unique look for your game. Although this does look good so far.

  • piszozo Found it, you're right, the option comes with actions!

Jermfire It's not an isometric game, just simple 2D, it's working out now. Was already using layers, but if you add layers later on in between you'll need to change some other actions as well, or perhaps I should use call layer name next time.

  • Hello all, I can't figure out how to do that. I can only choose a layer and position, not the Z-order of the object (for example create on bottom or top).

Or does this option not exist?
