Question: is it possible to submit various entries to the contest? Me and a group of friends want to make a game for the contest, but I'd also like to submit a solo entry if possible.

skymen yes, multiple submissions are allowed (obviously, those has to be games created by you/your team)

  • Thank you to for bringing us this contest.

What I miss is some general information for devs and on the legal ramifications. So here's a set of questions that instantly came to my mind:

    1) Is the game hosted on your platform after being accepted?

    2) Does the developer keep all rights to his/her game and can the game consequently be published independently from Gamee on iOS, Android and other platforms?

    3) Is there any kind of monetary incentive for the developer? (I guess this has already been answered)

Laura_D This link seems important for participants. It links to a detailed explanation of the design principles the people at Gamee expect and the metadata they require from developers. Maybe you could add it to your post?

  • I've read that but I somehow thought it shold still work. Still a lot to learn about the way events work!

I thought instance picking would limit this to the sprite which is affected by the event. So in this I case I thought the 'Trigger once' event would fire once per instance as long as the conditions are fullfilled. Guess I was wrong there, thank you!

  • Hey everybody!

I'm still very new to Construct and I'm working on a small project to speed up the learning. I've been using 'Trigger once' multiple times now but in one case it simply doesn't work and I fail to see my fallacy.

In the following two cases nothing changes except for the bottommost event block (under 'Is Start'). Why does the one with 'Trigger once' only work for the first sprite while the other one works for every sprite? Everything I've learned so far about the way picking instances works in construct suggests that both cases should have the same result.

  • What the hell?

So Families are pretty much unusable if I'm developing for mobile? That's awful.

But a big thank you to you guys for not just giving in and testing and insisting that there's something wrong with Families. Really good to know.

  • Hey there,

I wanted to give everybody a heads up about this since it seems pretty important. I don't have an iPhoneX so I can't test if the construct engine already deals with this problem automatically.

I just found out that AdMob has a very close in time deadline for banner positioning on iPhoneX. ("Please review these policy updates and our suggested implementation guide to ensure you're compliant by November 20th.") Banner ads need to be positioned in the safe area on iPhoneX - otherwise you'll be violating AdMob's policies and might suffer the consequences.

You can find the corresponding blog post here.

  • Thank you so much, that did the trick!

  • Hey everybody,

I tried to find an answer to this but wasn't succesful. Remote Preview is really cool but I couldn't find a way to test the game full screen the way it would actually look when released. Is there a way to accurately preview a game on mobile without going through hoops and having to build, sign and so on? Am I missing something?

Edit: To be exact - I can't get rid of the status and chrome adress bar on mobile which of course distorts the size of the preview. Adding the preview site to my homescreen doesn't change anything (whereas adding the construct 3 editor to the homsecreen gets rid of everything opening like an actual app).

    Cheers!

  • Hey everybody,

I'd love to give C3 a shot for developing mobile games so I tried to find some official information on the state of scirra's own mobile services but my search didn't yield clear answers (I'm talking about Game Center, Google Play Services, Ads and In-App Purchases). Are these available and fully functioning at this point in time (if the answer is no: is there any information if they'll be available in the near future)?

    Cheers!

  • Try Construct 3

  • Have you guys found a way to use app mode on mac with multiple screens?

App mode is fantastic but so far it's unusable on mac with multiple screens for me. You can't pull windows out of the main window which means you have to stretch the main window over multiple screens leading to tons of annoyances.

The only thing I found so far is that you can go to System Preferences > Mission Control, and uncheck the box for "Displays Have seperate Spaces" That way you should be able to have A chrome window extend over to your second screen as well. I can't test it here, since I don't have a second screen.

Try it out and tell me if that works.

I'll post over in your thread so we don't go too far ot in this thread.

Okay, I somehow killed my post in your thread and am now unable to post it again. It doesn't appear for me but everytime I try to post it my post count goes up by one. Very strange.

So here's a short version of my post:

It enables you to stretch windows over multiple screens but unfortunately the result is very annoying to work with and only slightly usable if both screens have the same resolution. Even then you have a giant window stretching over multiple displays leading to enormous annoyances (like having to do minutes of undocking and reordering everything every time you start the app).

[quote:3c92cjqx]I don't seem to have the "Add to Desktop" option in More tools. Unless I'm missing something?

Havok Sadly that awesome feature is disabled in Chrome for Mac. However there is still a way https://www.lessannoyingcrm.com/blog/20 ... e+on+a+Mac

Does this allow using multiple screens? My desktop app on Mac works fine but I can't pull windows out of the main window.
