  • Nice to have a new one, but that would mean having to recode a large part of the project as I'm using LiteTween about everywhere. So I'll simply wait for Litetween to be updated, hopefully quickly.

Is someone planning to do this, lunarray ?

  • I'm having the Black / White screen issue on a Huawei Mate 10.

It's a C2 project with an APK created with C3 export manager. Currently trying the hack as it seems like that's the only solution to have a working Android export at the moment (?).

I also referenced the device as problematic here: bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail

    Any news about this?

The first mention of the problem was 3 months ago...

  • Is LiteTween working with the C3 runtime already?

If yes, could we have a link, please? :)

  • Upvoted +3.

In the meantime, the plug-in MM_Preloader by Toby R allows to do so.

I used it for Healer's Quest and it is awesome.

No idea if it works with the new C3 runtime though. And it only preloads, no unloads.

  • Hi everyone,

I've got serious trouble to preview/try Healer's Quest on mobile. The preview simply never passes the loading screen.

First I tried to preview over wifi on 2 different mobile devices. Both were displaying a "Aw, Snap" message in Chrome.

Next I tried to export my game in HTML, place it on my server and launch it from a mobile device, got the same result. The point where it becomes tricky is that even on my desktop computer, the exported HTML5 version never passes the loading screen... However, previewing in Chrome from the editor works perfectly fine.

Any idea what could be wrong? I've been litterally looking for the cause of this for hours, and wasn't able to find anything.

    Thanks for your help !

  • I was planning to create a bug report for that, but it's not a bug, so I think the right place is in the forum with mention to Ashley .

There are actually 2 little things that I would like to be tweaked in the UI of Construct 3.

    1) The arrow to reveal a minimized action or group has a quite large hitbox on the right. Sometimes I just want to select a whole action, but end up maximizing it instead. I'd personnaly would like it to be 2 or 3 pixels smaller on the right.

    2) The area where we can click to select the whole action (between the maximize/minimize arrow and the actual action) is not indicated when that action is not selected. So sometimes I end up selecting the condition instead of the whole action. It would be great to have even a nearly invisible vertical line as a separation at that point.

Both problems are actually linked. As the arrow hitbox is large, I know I have to click a bit more on the right and sometimes I mess up. Fixing one of the two problems may be enough.

On desktop build, the fact that the cursor is buggy close to the left part of an action in the event sheet doesn't help, too (that has been reported as a bug).

  • Thanks a lot!

Create object by name was what I was looking for.

  • Hi everyone,

In C2 I was using the Nickname plug-in to do that, but I'm wondering if in C3 it's possible to do it without any plug-in.

I would like to create a given object type from a family.

For example, I have a family "Enemies" in which there are 3 object types named "enemy1", "enemy2" and "enemy3". The family "Enemies" has a family instance variable "enemyNumber" set respectively to 1, 2 and 3.

If I create an instance of Enemies, how can I set it to be enemy1, enemy2 or enemy3 (based on the "enemyNumber" instance variable) instead of a random instance of Enemies?

    Thanks!

  • Works perfectly, thanks a lot! :)

  • Thanks for the quick reply! :)

In C2 I believe effects were in drop down lists... Anyway it's not a big deal.

  • Hi everyone,

I've started using effects in C3 and they're quite different to use than they were in C2.

I need to change the tint parameter during the course of the game, but can't manage to do it.

Simply changing parameter 0 to anything just changes the red channel.

I suppose the RGB channels are maybe only one parameter, but putting the parameter 0 to something like "(255, 0, 255)" or "255, 0, 255" doesn't seem to work. I get a syntax error when I try that.

I don't see how to change the green and blue, so I believe there is something I don't get with effect parameters in C3.

Thanks in advance for any help you could provide. :)

PS: As a side note for Scirra team, I think it's too bad we can't select the effect we want to change in a drop-down list anymore. Seems like we need to type the effect name now.

  • Hi everyone,

I would like to use a mix of Spriter animation and classic animation in my next game. As far as I know, imported Spriter files are always played at 60 frames per second in Construct 3.

Is there any way to limit that frame per second rate to 30 or 15? (I don't want to export sprites)

    Maybe lucid may help?

    Thanks!
