  • I plan on using this engine to create my 2d games(Desktop,Mac,and Linux not website games) I currently have the free version and saw it myself it was too easy to learn. But 2 things, how do I remove the powered by construct 2, and can I still export to exe with the free version?

    The 'powered by....' can be removed in the licensed version.

    You cannot create the stand alone exe using the free version, as shown in the https://www.scirra.com/store/construct-2 following 'Compare Features' table.

    I wrote "Text box" but it's "input boxes" with the textbox native plugin

    Those input boxes , are well shown in the layout preview, but not in the png file

    I try with your example with the same result

    This is explained in the Manual:

  • This section is specifically for bugs in the Construct 2 software.

    If you really think you have a bug, then your post must follow all of the Bug Report Requirements in order for Ashley to investigate, or the post will likely be closed automatically.

    If this is just a general post then the 'Construct 2 General' section would likely be more appropriate.

    When posting, ensure to include such information as C2 version, NWjs version, OS/RAM/GPU, and anything else that may help others to help you.

  • I cant open my game when trying to test it. Please, can you help? I have the newest free version and it wont work.

    When asking for help, make sure to give as much information as possible. Your post, as it stands, makes it virtually impossible to offer any realistic help.

    What version of Construct 2 are you using? (be more specific than 'just the latest')

    What is your system OS/RAM/GPU?

    What browser(s) have you tried?

    What is the setting in 'File/Preferences/Preview' for Default Preview browser?

    What error messages do you get?

    Is this problem with ALL projects - including the built-in examples/templates - or just particular ones?

    Have you tried Ashley's Troubleshooting Construct 2's preview server?

    Unfortunately, it being the xmas period, Scirra are not going to be as active and Tom is really the only person who can deal with this.

    My only suggestion is to send the error and the full export process, and your exported file to . This way, if Tom does check over the next few days then all the information will be there for him.

    Hi,

    I would like to create a small browsergame, similar to a mini version of the famous game Neopets (http://www.neopets.com/).

    I'm not really sure, if this is a homepage or a game and if it can be created in construct 2 ... So maybe you could tell me if it's possible and maybe link to a few tutorials how to start this?

    Probably the first step is to go through Ashley's Multiplayer Tutirial.

    This isn't easy, but after going through all his tutorials, you will at least understand how to program multiplayer games and whether C2 multiplayer is suitable for what you want to achieve.

  • Please people - don't make it personal. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

    — It's unfortunate that C2 doesn't fit your purpose, but I can't see that semantics can be used to knock C2. Simple games can easily be created in minutes - without any coding - by just adding a few behaviours.

    Unfortunately, many users have unrealistic expectations of both their ability and what is involved in game creation.

    There has always been a free version that anyone can use to evaluate the product using both the tutorials and built-in templates/examples. This should give a prospective purchaser a good understanding of the product and allow them to make a more educated decision on whether to purchase or not.

    If anyone buys any product - not just C2 - before a proper evaluation, then finds it unsuitable for whatever reason, then unfortunately I have very little sympathy. Numerous analogies could be used, such as purchasing a car without a test drive, buying a house unseen.

    We all, in the end, have a choice.

  • Are you sure the 'Import Sprite strip' dialog window isn't somehow hidden off screen?

    To test, try 'File/Preferences/ Reset dialogs'.

    I just tested using the latest beta and it worked exactly as the tutorial states.

    Please also state CPU/MEM/GPU/OS so we can see what system you are using. Might help/might not but doesn't hurt to include such info

  • Need more information, really.

    Where are you trying to upload the games?

    If it's the scirra arcade, then are you certain you are using the built-in 'export to arcade' option?

    If you are uploading to another server then which export option are you using? Also, what does the browser erro console have to say?
