  • NW 0.13 and 0.14 are both excellent from my testing. Did not test 0.15 yet!

    Well I finally upgraded from 10.5 to 14.0 and I must say... wow. Damn how smooth it is. I am taking 15-20 FPS gain.

    Oh I am not asking about greenworks plugin as I am pretty sure it will never be finished. So my choice is to discard Achievements and Steam API all together or use MadSpy plugin.

    What is my biggest focus is performance and how bugfree new NW.js are.

  • As the title states. I've heard 10.5 had memory leaks and the most stable right now is 14.0 (which is also compatible with MadSpy Steam API plugin. But the newest version is 15.0. And when in most cases "newer" is better - we all know that things with NW.js... are a bit different, to say the least, and often than not - newer NW.js bring more bugs than fixes. So my question is for people who are(or wear) extensively testing 14.0, 14.5 and 15.0. What are the difference? What's your opinion? Which one is the most stable to use right now? Which one has the best performance?

    Soooo... in a nutshell. Lets assume I bought C2 to develop games for Desktops. So I paid the price and developed my game. Now, its only natural I want this game of my, to reach the biggest digital storefront on the planet, which is Steam of course.

    But having your game on Steam, without its Steamwork (achievements, leadersboards) is practically like not having your game on Steam AT ALL.

    Because 90%, and it HAS been proven, of the Steam users will only buy a game if the game has Steam achievements.

    Yet C2 doesn't have that, the steam API. What it does have, is undeveloped alpha plugin that doesn't work for half of the time.

    Meanwhile, 3rd party user, a single person, not related to Scirra, has done just that and a lot more.

    But the problem is - he wants $ 82 for it.

    That message is usually because you have placed a 'Behavior' in the 'Plugins' folder.

    I had made a behavior rex_canvasext to load image in rojo's canvas plugin.

    Not working for me =(

    Thanks for pointing these out.

    Anyway, i've already found workaround for that, let me explain :

    1. I will make a rate like 1 email every X

    2. I will make a limit, when the user reach the mail limit he have to host the mail script himself

    3. Users will have tokens assigned to get data (token : rate, nb_of_sent_mails, xxx

    It's to avoid spam too

    Of course these will come to next updates

  • Also, couple of scenarios:

    1. Someone doesn't like you very much or is just being an ass. So he makes a quick project and use your plugin and sets so the project is sending emails at rate 1 email per 0.05 sec.

    2. Thousands of people download and use your plugin. They check it out - if its working. They do so couple of times in row. All around the globe. 24h/7day.

    3. Someone makes a game and use your plugin (in good faith) to e.g. enable players to send short messages or bug reports from ingame. Lets imagine that his game hits the shelf and goes viral. Now, millions of people are playing his game and using the in game report sending. But he forgotten to put a cooldown for the message sending and now you can pretty much spam it. And so the gamers do. Be it to send feedback or to abuse the system.

    Now lets imagine all 3 happens simultaneously.

    How long it'll take for servers to fry?

    The idea behind it is great but I would love for the plugin to have an option to setup the traffic to one we desire, not only yours.
