this is already happening but it is still crashing :(

can you post a screenshot of the events that are triggering the crash?

  • LukeW How can I fix this problem?

Use a 'trigger once' block when you're starting the tween event

  • Ok, looks like I found out why this was happening for me. Turns out I wasn't using 'trigger once' to call the tween and, as it was being called through a state machine, it was causing the game to freeze on layout transition. Prior to 164.2, this wouldn't have caused a crash, and as the tween looked like it was working as intended I didn't notice, but something changed in this version that causes the game to crash if it's not in a trigger once event.

I mean, I'm not sure that it's a bug as I feel we should have been doing this already, and once I found why it was happening, it was easy enough to fix.

  • Getting this same issue. Happening on both my Android APK and when I preview it in the browser.

    Completely broke my game :(

I'm trying to recreate this in a example project in order to put in a bug report, but am having no luck.

  • Yes, the phone can get very warm if it's being pushed with effects. I had this from blur effects running on a layout.

  • New story for the game. Also decided to rename it to Cracked Crusaders after gathering survey data on a name change.

  • Had this problem and, as BadMario says (awesome name btw), disabling preload sounds fixed it for me.

  • use touch - on tap object

  • Construct has defaulted to using the newer WKWebView for a long time now (amonst other things, it's much faster). So if your app uses UIWebView, it must be because of other features.

According to this recent thread the InAppBrowser Cordova plugin appears to still use UIWebView, so maybe that's causing the problem. It can be configured to use WKWebView instead though.

Sorry, do you mean the browser plugin (which comes with C3) or a non-installed plugin?

I'm getting this on a vanilla build.

  • Try Construct 3

  • After uploading a new build last night, I received this email:

    'Dear Developer,

We identified one or more issues with a recent delivery for your app, "Super Dungeon Delvers" 0.916 (0.916). Your delivery was successful, but you may wish to correct the following issues in your next delivery:

ITMS-90809: Deprecated API Usage - Apple will stop accepting submissions of apps that use UIWebView APIs . See developer.apple.com/documentation/uikit/uiwebview for more information.

After you’ve corrected the issues, you can use Xcode or Application Loader to upload a new binary to App Store Connect.

    Best regards,

    The App Store Team'

I can't see anything in the link that states when the submissions will be stopped, but I'm hoping this is not going to be an issue moving forward.

  • Made a map system using arrays at start of layout. Pretty happy with where this is going.

  • Congratulations on the grant and the progress of your game!! I didn't know grants like that existed. How do you go about finding them?

I checked my local government arts funding portal, specifically, their screen arts which in the last couple of years has been expanded to include videogames. I'm actually lucky that I live in a state that supports videogames, as some of the larger states in my country (Aus) don't support them at all.

    thanks

  • so... looks like that ^ is getting scrapped now in favour of something with a bit stronger story... stupid me should have kept it as a draft before things were set... :/

Today I did make a collectible card system though :)

  • So I was successful in applying for a government grant which will allow me, among other things, to hire a pr firm and brand consultant prior to release (in Oct). One of the things that came up was that the story didn't tie together really,. So in a bid to address this issue, I've decided to do a series of collectable comic pages through the game. Here's the first couple (which also double as the game's new intro)

Nothing's set in stone on this, so I'm happy to hear feedack :)
