  • Update, different project and not many assets. After working for about an hour I found the editor became very laggy so I closed it down. As it shut down it showed the "not responding" warning for at least 10 seconds before closing. On restart everything was back to normal. It feels like a memory leak...

  • I have to enter my log in details quite frequently now - once every 2 to 4 times that I check the forum (so more than once per day). I don't have to do this in any other forum that I visit...

  • If I recall correctly, asm.js as well as being limited to 8 collision points, also cannot handle concave object shapes - it could have been that, perhaps. Glad it's fixed!

  • I'm 43 and a pilot in my day job. I wanted to make games and apps for mobiles but found html5 to be too slow on mobile for the type of games I wanted to make. Still, that's not what c2 is optimised for. I have a couple of c2 made apps out on android and iOS, and I really enjoy the challenges of game design while learning something that I can also do with my kids (important - because this is an obsession more than a hobby...). I'm working on something that I hope to sell on Desura in a few months - we'll see if I can keep my focus or if any new and juicy c2 updates distract my progress... My lessons have all been to do with setting a clear focus of what to try and achieve and to avoid spending hours just creatively tinkering....

  • Ashley - I'll see if I can reproduce it again. I was using global layers in my project and am fairly sure that I was trying to create a sprite on a non-global layer in a layout that did have global layers already established. I could be mistaken, though, as the only time I receive this error now is when I try and create a sprite on a global layer....

  • +1 as well - would be very useful.

  • I just had exactly this error as well, except I was creating a sprite on a non-global layer....

  • Autotilegen still feels like it's stuck in beta and has some bugs - artifacts showing in areas that should be transparent as well as sometimes not sensing an image transparency (the beta was much better....). It will let you quickly produce a full tile set, however.

2D is more embryonic (no tile sheet export yet) but the interface is easier to use and the user can import their own masks and texture templates to make it very customisable. They even have a video showing how to import into C2 (using sprite, not tile map ). Shows more promise and is my personal favourite.... When tile sheet export comes it'll be a clear winner.

Edit - this should probably reside in Tools and Resources

  • I thought it was really good, a very well put together game. On the level select screen, it starts by showing that the first 5 levels have been completed... Not sure if that's a bug or not but it wasn't clear why.

  • Whoop! Thank you Ashley & the Scirra team!

  • Awesome!!

  • Well done you top 100 chaps - very impressive (and inspirational) work! And well done everyone else for completing it - for those of use who are less experienced at game making, this is an awesome vehicle for learning to focus and obtaining honest and quick feedback. It should be compulsory...

  • Ruskul, there's also a max of 8 polygon corners allowed per object iirc. Not so much a bug as a limitation that might catch you out.

  • ...not to mention a couple of asm.js bugs that need fixing as well, if at all possible.
