  • From the blog post:

[quote:2l20brgf]We'll also provide brand-new IAP and ad plugins for iOS and Android, as well as building and maintaining the underlying Cordova plugins ourselves. This should minimise any difficulties with configuration or third-party libraries.

  • tgeorgemihai Thanks for those links. I was lucky enough for Cluckles to get reviewed on a few different websites, but these ones are new to me

Id rather not discuss Cluckles here TGeorgeMihai, just to keep the thread on topic. Post in my thread here if you'd like to chat more about it.

    Cheers

  • I'm sure this is something that most of us are hoping for. My guess would be that they aren't answering here because they are saving the reveal for a future blog post.

Burvey you might be right about that. They are probably saving this up for a future reveal. I hope so

I feel like maybe its too obvious a question... The Scirra devs are probably thinking "Of course we are going to provide that, just sit back and wait for us to announce things in our own time and stop trying to pre-empt all our good news!".

I mean it seems really unlikely that official plugins for iAPs and ads would get upgraded and become officially maintained by Scirra while plugins for connecting to GameCentre and GooglePlay Services would be left to third party solutions.

If Scirra maintain plugins for GooglePlay, GameCentre, maybe Steam?, maybe WinPhone?, iAPs, some different ad networks, that would easily be worth the annual subscription price imo.

I think its likely this will happen, because that seemed to be the original vision for C2. C2 has official plugins for those things, its just that in recent times they weren't maintained and users came to rely on third party options that worked better, I guess because Scirra was prioritizing their time and energy on building C3.

I must admit I was one of the people who was all in an uproar about a subscription payment model. But the Scirra blog post about the new mobile app build system, and updated iAP/ad plugins sounds super awesome! Ill be purchasing C3 as soon as its available.

  • Bump Ashley , Tom

Is this a dumb question? Or too obvious or something?

I haven't seen it discussed anywhere else?

  • Tom

You guys mentioned in your recent blog post that you'd be maintaining new plugins for iAP and ads for mobile apps.

Just wondering if you'd also be maintaining new plugins for connecting to GooglePlay Services and Apple's GameCentre for achievements and leaderboards?

Another question, when you say you'd provide plugins for ads, is that just for AdMob or wld you maintain plugins for other providers too? Chartboost, AppLovin, others?

If this has already been discussed in another thread can someone pls link me.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Ah ok thanks rex.

  • Hi rexrainbow I have a question about a possible use case for your firebase plugin.

Ive been looking into using AdWords to drive installs of my game on iOS. Part of the process is 'tracking conversions', that is if someone actually installs my game on their iOS device after clicking one of my ads, that counts as a conversion.

So apparently I can use firebase to track installs / conversions on iOS devices.

Would I be able to use your Firebase plugin to set something like that up?

    References from AdWords documentation:

    Track iOS app conversions

Track mobile app conversions with Firebase

don't use a WE , it's not a problem for me and for many others

    Don't post then.

    Dear Scirra

We love Construct2 and we want to love Construct3 but we hate the subscription payment model.

We ask you to please make Construct3 available for a one off payment.

    Post below if you agree.

  • Burvey Its available in the latest Android version on GooglePlay, but still waiting for review on iTunes.

  • I made a cool new feature for Cluckles that Im pretty happy with: adjustable controls

You can change the position and scale of the in-game touch controls and save it.

The default righthand / lefthand buttons swap the touch controls to be right or left handed and position them neatly into the corners of the screen. And I made it so that the buttons can't overlap and can only be positioned in the lower half of the screen.

  • newt Thanks for posting, that information is extremely useful!

  • Hi Mubot

The player movement mechanics use the native Platform Behaviour and some custom elements.

For example I have the default doubleJump disabled in the Platform Behaviour, and I made my own doubleJump mechanics by setting Platform VectorY and also setting / toggling instance variables / booleans. I did that to get the doubleJump working in concert with dashing the way I wanted it to.

I make use of stacks of the Platform Behaviour conditions and actions to get the player character to move the way I wanted.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you wanted to know anything more specific. And thanks for the positive feedback.

Im working on updates to the game now. I have to make adjustable touch controls... hmm

  • Hi Cryptwalker , theres no demo for PC. But you can test it out on mobile (its a free game with ads). See my signature for links to GooglePlay or AppStore.
