  • You've got a point there, the game could be slow because of objects and not loops. My mistake.

  • I don't know about that, my game is still really slow.

If you want to check out the .capx see my forum post here: https://www.scirra.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=167483&p=1009072#p1009072

  • I've built a Terraria-like game in Construct 2 I'm releasing as open-source. Any feedback and/or help is appreciated. Note that this is mainly placeholder graphics and new releases will have better ones.

    Controls:

    • Arrow keys: move
    • I: inventory
    • Esc: exit inventory
    • S: get world seed

    Alpha 0.0.0.1:

    Alpha 0.0.0.2:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bx5AqMqZu7eJb2cwTDYzVkhQbWc/view?usp=sharing

    Change log:

    • Removed deepstone temporarily
    • Added a useless crafting button
    • Slight graphics update

    Alpha 0.0.0.3:

    .capx: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bx5AqMqZu7eJamZJc2NUV0RoVWs/view?usp=sharing

    NW.js: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bx5AqMqZu7eJeGtJMUk5eGVpNkU/view?usp=sharing

    Change log:

    • Inventory almost finished
    • Buttons removed in game (not menu)
    • Better gameplay
    • NW.js release
  • Does this mean if I send you a .capx you'll send me some graphics?

  • Does anyone know a faster alternative to loops for creating a several thousand objects? I'm not very good with JavaScript so I was just wondering if there was anything faster in Construct 2.

    Thanks,

    EthanD57

  • I've tried my hand at creating my own plugins, and one of my old ones was lying around in the plugins folder. I just deleted it, then the message went away.

  • Thanks, I fixed it!

  • Problem Description

I keep getting this error whenever I start Construct 2 and when I first try to place an object:

    ---------------------------

    Construct 2 Check failure

    ---------------------------

Check failure! This is probably a bug:

ACE table: Expression ID duplicated in ACE table

    Condition: exp_ids.find(id) == exp_ids.end()

    File: c:\c2\source\exporters\html5\..\..\common\ERAHelpers.h

    Build: release 219 (32-bit) checked

    Component: HTML5 exporter

    (Last Win32 error: 0)

You are using a 'checked' release of Construct 2, intended for testing, which causes certain errors to be reported this way. Hit Ctrl+C to copy this messagebox - it's useful information for the developers, so please include it with any bug reports! Click 'Abort' to quit (unsaved data will be lost!),'Retry' to turn off messages for this session and continue, or 'Ignore' to continue normally.

    Attach a Capx

This always happens to me, I assume it's a problem with the editor.

    Description of Capx

    See above.

    Steps to Reproduce Bug

    • Open Construct 2 to get the message once.
    • Place an object to get the message again if you didn't hit Retry.
    • Step 3 etc.

    Observed Result

An annoying message pops up, it doesn't appear to affect anything else, its just REALLY annoying.

    Expected Result

Everything should proceed without the error message.

    Affected Browsers

    See Observed Result.

    Operating System and Service Pack

    Windows XP, Service Pack 3

    Construct 2 Version ID

r219, but I have observed it in other versions to.

  • Cool, I like the shooting!

  • I was working on a game this morning and everything was working great until this weird line popped up when I dug to the left. It doesn't happen when I dig to the right, any idea what's causing the problem?

  • I am not using CocoonJS, and the "Unfortunately, STAR FALL has stopped working." error doesn't seem to give me a crash report. If you could tell me where I might find one that would be GREAT!!

Also, Billy Bleeks, this is just out of curiosity and has nothing to do with this topic, but how did you add the links to those games on the bottom of your post?

  • I'm having a problem with one of my games, STAR FALL (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.starfall.www&hl=en) keeps giving me the error "Unfortunately, STAR FALL has stopped working." when I install it from Google Play. This is not only really annoying, but I found the cause of one occasion when this problem comes up then fixed it and it STILL comes up in another place. I'm worried this will drive users away from my game. Please respond ASAP!!
