Well, the gamers complaint about it but it doesn't stop them playing anyway! I think they know, something like an iPhone 6 or typical mobile, will go flat in around 3 hours gaming seriously. I don't like it, but I'm not actually a mobile gamer so I see it differently.

My point is C2 games can work great on mobiles, so it's a good idea to think about porting over your games to these platforms too. Additional sales or passive income is great.

How many sprites do you have on-screen at once?

Also, how do you go about debugging mobile clients? Do you have representative machines, or do you use virtualization?

Have you ever run across a white-screen issue? Our current website and client both suffer from a white-screen issue, that I have been unable to solve as of yet...

That only does the visual effect. We need access to the grid locations too. I will probably either just use your HexTx or maybe try to abuse your SquareTx. We'll see...

It seems that Rojo 's mode7 effect.

Beautiful, thanks. I'll do some prototyping today with it.

  • Yea, you just have to build the plugin framework around the JavaScript library.

If you do that please publish it for other Construct users to make use of. You can even save it on a Github to open source it.

  • This is not related to this post, but do any of your plugins do 2.5D grids rexrainbow ?

    Like this:

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • I did a bit of research and discovered that it's not possible. But i made another system that works like a charm with LocalStorage.

Yea, localstorage doesn't pose the same security threats that saving (or deleting) on the users hard drive does.

  • I only wish mobile makers would get serious about increasing battery life, because as soon as you load CPU/GPU on these devices, they got flat real fast. It's more like they are made for idling rather than serious gaming.

Besides that, C2 + Mobiles & PC = great currently!

The "New Game, Continue" are blurry sprites I made on purpose, on PC it fades out after a few seconds of inactivity so the background battles come into play and it becomes like a stress test / screen saver.

I ran it on a Galaxy Tab A (1024 x 768 resolution), which has terrible hardware and it was running really smooth! But I was hesitant to recommend it, knowing that there's so many older Android devices which can have issues with Chromium.

Yea, everyone I know that plays Pokemon GO complains about batteries now, lol. This is why we are designing for PC for now...

  • Just finished the Art of Game Design by Jesse Schell and i loved it. I would like your thoughts on how you see it applying to Tycoon/Management Sim type games. I find it very difficult to apply many of the principles (lenses) to this type of game. Games like Sim City, Patrician, Tropico, Capitalism 2, Civilization etc., often don't have a very clearly defined end goal, don't really feature a meaningful story, have very complex game mechanics and seem to fly in the face of many of the books teachings about what makes a game fun for players. Yet, I love playing them and I know I am not alone. Indeed, some of them sell very well. What is your take on that? What would you change about these games to make them seem like more fun and less like work?

We are in the process of building a civilization-like game. The primary motivators that these types of games access is ego, community, and control. In my experience, ego and control are the two big ones though. The fastest way to piss someone off is to tell them that they have no choice.

  • is it possible to do it without smtp?

Why would you want to reinvent the wheel?

  • You are pretty close with your image. You just need to be able to track each frame and identify which Sprite it is part of.

Then you need your actual board array set and just track which animation frame is present in each slot. Maybe look at using rexrainbow 's SquareTx and Board plugins for displaying your tiles.

  • You are trying to run your animation in reverse?

  • Put all of the backgrounds on different frames of a sprite, then just use Sprite.SetFrame(random(Sprite.AnimationFrameCount))
