Wouldn't crosswalk give lower fps than cjs?. assuming your game has iap, is crosswalk able to handle iap and leader boards and such. I assumed that many preferred cjs because it could handle iap, leaderboards, ads( a long long time ago) etc whereas crosswalk had issues with the above mentioned.

And Silverforce , i'm not familiar with your game but couldn't you use the players username as a sort of key for the saved file. Maybe in an update you can have the ability to name the ship and squad and etc etc, so you use the ships name and the squads name and etc etc name in digits(1 for a, 2 for b etc etc) multiplied by a large number and keep it as a save file key. Probability of 2 people with the same ship name and squad name and etc etc name would be zero, i guess. Just my 2 cents.

  • I actually posted in the forum some time back with the same issue and noticed the same drop in fps&cpu in debugger mode and the back to normalcy of 60fps in profile mode.

I have a feeling it's the combination of an updated chrome and C2. I think you should not judge the performance of your game based on the debugger view. I always switch to profile view after doing changes in debugger view.

But still the issue is annoying , especially since it wasn't ever an issue before.

  • Oh, bubble shooter. So if the number of bubbles in a row that has the same color is 3 or more, it has to be destroyed. Am i right?

And you want it to check if the color is the same just for a certain row, in both direction from a bubble, instead of all the rows. right?

Now i'm just wondering what you mean by recursive function. You mean a function that has to check for all the colors?

  • So you mean like the bejeweled/candycrush type 3 in a row thing?. You want to check if the bubble that is also 2 places ahead in a row has the same color as well, instead of just the one next to it( i.e , just one place ahead)?

I can't open your capxs as my C2 version is older and my intenet is too shitty to download the new versions now.

Thanks for the help. i think it is better to move the enemy off screen then make it reappear elsewhere as another enemy rather than to destroy create destroy create. It's easier on the device.

And i think I've figured out that functions run for each instance separately rather than stacking. Not certain but it seems that way when i run my project. Thanks again.

I did use a for each loop. I'm still checking if my code is interfering in any way. still can't tell if functions work stack wise or not.

    Thanks for UID tip.

  • Hey all,

I have been using functions and i was wondering how they work when called into action for multiple times simultaneously.

    For Example :

There are 10 enemies and whenever an enemy dies. I call a function which creates an explosion at the enemies position, with the help of the function's parameters to store the enemies X and Y.

Now when 2 enemies die simultaneously . Is the function called 2 times, 1 for each enemy, or is it stacked where it runs for one enemy and once finished, runs for the other enemy, or does it only run once ignoring the second enemy?.

Now i have tried this with very mixed results . I have at times the function called 3 times simultaneously, and the functions sometimes runs twice, or once but never thrice i think. So anyone got any pointers.

Thanks. Does it work with mobile tho?. Webview maybe.

  • Hi all,

So i was away from C2 for a while and i come back to see talk about a 'file chooser'. Is it only from the new versions of C2beta or is it a downloadable plugin?. Does it work with mobile and cocoonjs?.

    Thanks

  • Do you mean you want a popup text bubble?. Like texts that pop up during tutorials?.

I didn't lose anything luckily. I just deleted a sprite frame before the crash happened. I usually backup to my external HD.

I thought i'd rename the backup file by deleting it's .capx extension in properties as project files don't have the .capx part. But i couldn't , i was given an alert saying that the file with the name already exists. The file which just disappeared exists!, but where?!. Lol

    Thanks for the info anyways.

  • I was just working on my project and the usual autosave action occurred.

As i was waiting for the autosave to finish, C2 stopped responding. I didn't worry much as C2 has crashed before , and i usually just close C2 via task managaer and re-open it.

But this time C2 closed itself and the project file disappeared from my desktop.

The autosave and backup files were the only files of the project that remained.

I had to open the back up file and upon pressing save in that, a new backup file was created with a .capx.capx extension (project name.capx.capx). Double .capx?

I don't know what has happened, i can't locate the usual project file. Searching in windows says the shortcut has been moved or deleted.

    Anyone can help me here?.
