  • Where can I see which version of NW I'm using?

  • I tried the game and it is really good But there's room for imrpovements

    1. You should start out with explaining the mechanics in the beginning so the player understands what to do because many players won't look at the controls layout. For examle a text with "press and hold X to move the log" and "Press Y to jump" when you're at the hole and so on. I understand that you don't want to ruin it with text but I can see many players getting stuck straight away and just give up Or maybe just a sign with symbols explaining how to do it and what to look for.

    2. Gravity is a bit low. It feels like you're on the moon when you jump and fall. I think it should be much better if the gravity was more like here on earth. Had some trouble predicting when to jump when the gravity was so off. And you're probably used to it by now so maybe you haven't noticed. That tends to happen to us developers

    3. Maybe you could make the character raise her arms while falling so it really looks like she's falling. Now she looks like she's doing "the nail" into a pool.

    4. Lastly, when you get eaten by the piranhas the skeleton suddenly get white. I think you should keep the silhouette theme and keep it all black. Now it looks like someone is pointing a spotlight at the skeleton all of a sudden.

    But other than that it's a great start and if you keep up the great work you'll soon have a hell of a game. Good luck m8!

  • Do you have collisions enabled and have you checked the collision polygon on the sprites?

    And is the animation correct?

    Hard to say what the problem is without the capx

  • You can create an invisible box and use it as a trigger where you want the animation to happen and script it like "on collision with player > play animation".

    But there are many ways to do it so that was just an example

  • Anyone have any ideas? This must be a big problem for everyone using gamepads? Right now this is a game breaker which I have to fix.

  • It can be as simple as when sound "talk" is playing play talk animation on avatar. But if you really want to sync it with the audio it's a bit more complicated.

  • Hi.

    I have a problem with my wireless xbox360 gamepad controls. Because when I play the game with the gamepad and it for some reason disconnects from the computer (turns off or out of battery) when I then turn it on again and it reconnects to the computer the game doesn't find it and you'll then have to restart the whole game to use the controller again. Pressing buttons doesn't work to get it to recognise the reconnected gamepad.

    Do you know how to reconnect/search for a gamepad while the game is running?

    Like on gamepad connected > activate gamepad or something

  • I've noticed that when I make bigger games I usually loose my motivation when the code gets too messy. And then I take a brake and when I come back I have no idea what to do. So now when I'm making games I put alot of effort in making it as tidy as possible by commenting all events and use functions as much as possible.
