  • Experimenting on webrtc and websocket hybrid switching for Construct. A basic zombie kill point system, mixed with other online players. As of now not much to expect from this game, but if I decided to further improve it in the future changes might include better item and monster system.

    This game is playable both in desktop and mobile device. Just try it is more than enough for me to track the volume performance and get some feedback.

  • End of the game jam is meant to be the release of C3, so free users I think (don't quote me here), will have control within bounds of the free version which is probably the 2 layers, 50 events and limited exports, and subs should open at same time for the larger project users who want to sub to get full access

    I hope this can be clarified by Tom or Ashley . After the gamejam can we still access our game? or after the game jam we need to avail the subscription, will the beta period end after the gamejam?

  • This is a basic matching game i posted in the arcade https://www.scirra.com/arcade/rikoshe-mobile-game-jam/big-bang-6108?cp=5. What make people like matching games, despite of all the clones? Your thoughts?

  • I like the sprite grids, but can it be configured to work based on a given sprite or sprite font and not as a global config? Technically sprites and spritefonts would have different grid alignments and it makes sense to tag the grid config to each type of sprite.

    I doubt it will be in C2 but Create Object by name is really in the screenshot. A quick question, If I change the object name will it propagate on all the action calls using this? similarly to goto layout by name?

  • We tried using Construct 2 (exploded caproj) with SVN and its ok, not great but manageable and workable. Ashley for C3 since its in the cloud, it will be the same workflow right? We need to download our exploded xml(in C3 its json with some binary right?) project in our local then use svn from that point, or does C3 have api ties with dropbox/googledrive and we sync from there and no need to manually download.

    I think what this post wanted to see is a real time C3 UI based merging tool intended for Construct ^^.

    1. If its not real time and someone needs to commit at a certain point of time and do merging, then C3 might have a built-in file repository and versioning with comparator and layout and event locking mechanism.

    2. I would love to see a UI based event comparator, or for the layout a position based comparator.

    End of the day it is a lot of dev effort and testing on your part, not really sure how much value it would add C3 though.

  • In text plugin, is there a way to partially change the font color of some of its content? example "Hello world?", I want the Hello to be default black but the world word would be red in color?

  • Layout or tilemap size does not affect performance but the amount of objects in a layout may. Also note that sizes above a certain widthxheight for tilemaps may not be supported on all systems, as given with the popup warning from importing if they are too large.

    Thanks. Do you know the acceptable width and height for tilemaps? So it is recommended to have a big tilemap since it only counts as 1 object?

  • I have a topdown shooter game. I have a large map. Is there a benefit if I make multiple tilemaps and preload them on demand based on player coordinates, or is it ok to just make one large tilemap. Would there be performance improvements? Thanks.
