    SUPER Build & Play*1 is a platformer editor/game in one - like SUPER MARIO MAKER(r).

    The game status is beta and i want to post the process finishing the game.

    You are all invited to help make the game better.

    Build a game and publish it and play the level from other players.

    With the next step i will replace the current placeholder sprites with an asset that is growing from now on.

    You can follow the progress if you are interrested - i will post changes and publish the most current version until the game gets published.

    ingame control: arrow keys/wasd, space(shoot), ctrl (place dynamite)

  • My oppinion:

    In general you can't get enough feedback for a game (concept, art, ...)

    In detail...

    it it's a free game (not sold) then as early as possible (already the game concept).

    if it's a game you want to sell there is always a chance other will copy your idea (if it's worth it).

    ...so discuss with friends you trust

    ...if it's a bigger sized project request feedback with a stable (late beta) status (so you can finish it before other can do ) - but do a dynamic game design to be able to change/implement new good ideas even in beta status.

    a tilemap (with platform behavior) don't collides with other tilemaps (behavior=solid)

    Description of Capx

    There are two characters with platform behavior (red is a sprite, blue is a tilemap) standing on a solid sprite (so far ok)

    If you move the characters down to the tilemap grid the sprite works fine, the tilemap"platformer" falls through.

    Observed Result

    a tilemap with platform behavior falls through solid tilemaps

    Expected Result

    a tilemap with platform behavior works like a sprite with platform behavior

  • Here is a Photoshop spritefont template (PSD format).

    You need CS3 or better to open.

    This is the 16x16 version: http://www.gameus.de/c2/spritefont16.psd

    This is the 32x32 version: http://www.gameus.de/c2/spritefont32.psd

    (but you can change size you need)

    To change the color or the font just select all text objects and change the style (color, font, opacity, ...)

    To change the effects change one and copy the effect to all other.

    A nice font page is dafont (http://www.dafont.com) (most are free for private or commercial use)

    Probably some special fonts needs adjustments in the template!

    Why make a present for such a group?
