  • Hi lanceal,

I'm implementing your plugin and so far it is going well.

I see how adding a parameter to the url changes the contents of the comments box. That's great, but how do I change the url while in game?

I need something like a dynamic SET URL action to be able to change the comment box when a level changes in my game.

  • Hi Lanceal, this looks very promising.

However if I am to buy your addon I need to know if this is possible:

I want to be able display a comments box for every level of my game.

To do that I need to pass some sort of a level ID to Facebook so that it knows what the particular comment box is about.

Could you provide a screenshot of the comments box functionality and describe how it is used in C2?

  • Thanks. My game already relies heavily on AJAX and PHP so I could techically code another script to handle the comments.

The thing is, there are great tools out there (like the aforementioned Facebook or Disqus) which have things like user accounts and security covered, so I would basically be reinventing the wheel.

I was hoping for some hacky (or not) way to bring these tools to my game. Apparently there isn't an easy way out of this so I'll have a look at the possibility of wrapping these things in a plugin and if that proves too cumbersome I'll do as you suggest... code it anew. Meh.

  • Hi,

What do you think about the possibility of displaying comments pages in my game? As in: a comments page for every level of the game?

On a website I would use a Facebook comments plugin (or something like Disqus) to allow people to comment using their Facebook/Disqus accounts. Is it doable in C2? Are there any addons that would enable such a functionality?

  • And I must say I'm not all that impressed.

My suggestions is to introduce two improvements:

    • make the shadows blurred instead of rock solid,
    • make the shadows appear under their sprites not over them,

No but seriously. This isn't supposed to look like this, is it?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Great! Thanks, I'll do that.

  • Hi, suppose I want to make a quiz game. I would like it to display the total percentage of players who got all the questions right.

I guess I would need the game to send info about the score to a central server and then retrieve it? But doese C2 even have this kind of functionality?

Note: using a 'scoreboard' feature of an API won't work because I would like to store numerous values - for different categories of questions or ever per question, which would mean possibly hundreds of scoreboards.

Any tips on how to best approach this?

I don't think collisions affect clicks but I might be wrong. Disabling groups will be subject to the same problems as in the picture in my previous post. I've tried that. But I will have a look at this .capx!

  • Hi! it's a pity you can't download the attachments. As I've said I already solved the problem but just for the sake of clarity here's why the 'isVisible' condition won't work in this case:

As you can see the upper layer stays always invisible (or stays always visible if I switch the conditions).

  • And here's a solution, if anyone's interested. This way the touch is registered only once instead of twice. The problem is still that it is a bit hacky... Relying on the order of events in C2 never seemed too elegant to me. Anyway, if anyone's got a better idea please let me know.

  • In fact, here's a *.capx.

As you can see, the touch registers for the first event, then it meets another condition and is registered again for the second event.

I'm not sure how would i go around it.

Also, a simple 'else' might solve it in this example because it is very simble but in my project I have like 100 entangled events and 15 layers so it won't do the trick.

  • Unfortunately this doesn't cut it.

The two layers have buttons at the same places so it quickly becomes messed up when I click a button, the upper layer appears and immediately registers the same click.

I think there should be a live 'locked' property for layers or something like that.
