  • Like you guys said, it seems construct2 is only for prototype usage right now (wich is sad, and even for that it's limited now), we have to wait for some fixes (sadly from Google/chrome side). I knew Construct2 is a HTML based engine and i was fine with it (and actually it's a really strong one) i was reading everything i could find about optimisation, tricks to make the best of it, but right now (with the lastest issues) it's just plain impossible to make something pro with Construct2 (it happens even with the smallest prototypes now).

Like you may know, from browsers usage stats : http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

Has you can see, Chrome represent 60% of web browser usage ... So what does that mean ? We just have to wait and hope that Chrome fix that soon. Or move to another engine, and that pains me (yes i really enjoyed Construct2) ...

If anyone comes up with a fix for that let us know <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">.

  • Yes, I can do prototype. But my point is: what Scirra can do about the micro-stuttering. Then I don't need an Unity-guy. I can hire.. Yes.. but better options if I can to do my game from start to end by myself. From my own interests

Well, you may have the micro-stuttering problem If I understood correctly, no one can do anything about it.

Well yeah i guess we can call it a micro-stuttering problem. But for the sake of example the capx is really small (for debuging testing purpose) and it happens mainly on Chrome (on Firefox and ie, still happens but less). It's a real problem if you are considering making a fast passed game. I don't think this could be associated with Garbage Collection (but well i'm no JS pro user). (I would be so happy if someone found a way to fix this )

  • I'm using latest Firefox and I'm not seeing any jittering at all.

Thanks for your feedback, on firefox and ie the jitter is actually way lower, but it still happens sometimes, like every 2 - 3 secs (way more visible on a bigger project), some may consider this like a minor problem, but if you are aiming for some fast passed movement game (for mobiles and web), it can be really frustrating (considering Chrome is widely used).

Ashley previously posted on another post, that micro stuttering problem could be a Garbage collection issue, but it's unlikely for this project (considering the size off this example capx).

  • Ho well, i've seen this post a bit too late, i'm having the same kind of problem with my project. Even on a super simple project for testing, i'm seeing jittering on the movements.

  • Hello everyone,

I need some help, i'm having troubles with a project, i was planning on making a fast passed scrolling type game (you have to dodge things and collect coins) for mobiles.

But i'm seeing some jittering. My fps (mainly 60fps on the main project) and cpu / memory usage is fine.

Here a simplified capx for exemple (it even happens on something so simple).

The background isn't moving smoothly (some times it's worse than others) .

I know the background is pretty big (i used a tiledbackground for this test, but it was the same with a sprite background).

Any suggestion to improve the performances ? (Knowing i'm planning on having multiple backgrounds, items and ennemies spawning.)

I have tested this on various computers, chrome (lastest version) / firefox / ie, and multiple Construct2 versions (lastest beta too). Having always the same result.

    Thanks for the help.

  • Cool art and concept. Waiting for more

  • I do like the art, but the controls are a total mess for now . Wasn't able to attack an ennemy at all (and the hit box are strange too). But it's looking good, keep it up !

  • Super good looking.

A little bit of Rayman inspiration ?

I'm sure it's even nicer when moving.

  • Problem Description

Hello everyone, here is the problem (bug?).

(I know i should post the capx, i will when i get back to home, but for now it was just to know if this happened to someone else)

I made a small prototype, and later on, i decided to modify the length of a sprite object.

The sprite was for the example : 256x32 , then i edited it with the "edit image" and just changed the size to 512x32 (apply to all animation etc...).

Problem is, when the game create this sprite, it stay at the previous size (i double checked if the size of the edited image was correct and it was), i noticied that by just slidding the sprite from the library, into my layouts, the problem persist o_O, i have to manualy click to 1:1 ratio to see a change.

Even odder this problem happened to two sprites, but latter on the modified size applied to one and not the other.

Anyone had a problem like this before ?

I just wanted to check if this happend to someone else ?

(It's an important problem for me, since i like to prototype games before making the sprites) :'(

    Construct 2 Version ID

I will post the version used and the capx soon.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Those sketchs are looking good ! It's simple and early, but i can tell you have good drawing skills (I'm looking forward this projetct).

  • Hello, here is my game. Still very poor because I had to remake entirely when changed form the old Construct to the new Construc2.

Hope you like and, with time (I´m very very occupied), I´ll try to complete... at least the first level.

    Byes ^_^

This is looking really good ! (Nice Ghost n ghouls feel)
