  • Sorry OP I can't answer your question, but rather that start a new thread I think my question will fit in with yours and it'll be something you would like to also know the answer to.

    So, will the steam version keep up with the scirra version when it comes to updates?

    There is a thread on the steam forum about how to update with the beta releases. It's pinned.

  • Not with polygons etc. but you could give the illusion of 3d ala Wizardry.

  • New to construct but based on tutorials I've seen this should be doable.

    Have your spawn points set in advance.

    Give them unique names/ids.

    Make array of those names/ids.

    Randomly pick one per enemy.

    Set enemy location to chosen spawn point location.

  • I have a platform that I want to rotate, just a simple bar. When I rotate it, it rotates around the center, but I want to rotate around an end... I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I cannot find it.

    I added new ImagePoints, but didn't get anywhere.

  • Glad to hear you got it (and more importantly agreed with me!) I posted on their forum about the no-upgrade policy and the rude manner they presented it.

    Monogame is $995 per platform (iOS/Android), but I can code in my native C#/.Net which is why I will use it for larger projects.

  • I have no issues with Steam at all. The only problem I have with digital purchases is the ability to sell them when your done (games especially).

    But regardless I'm watching the Steam page. If it drops even more, I'm on it. Since they did RPG Maker during the sale, I'm hopeful that they will do Construct 2 too. (construct tutu???? :) ).

    If it doesn't, then I buy on the 22nd.

    My arsenal will be Monogame for larger projects where I really need more code control. And Construct 2 for cool action, more simple games (in terms of gameplay design, not saying Construct 2 cannot do complex at all!).

    GameMaker lost out. Primarily with their no-upgrade policy and no iOS out of the box.

  • I'm shying away from Phonegap because I want to keep the 30% I'd have to give to the stores. In addition, it seems to me that I really can do this as a straight webapp with different layouts according to screen size, which would allow me to have the same code base for everything. Given C2's offline ability on iOS/Android I think everything is here to make it work as a WebApp.

    So your iOS/Android users wouldn't install the app, just launch it from the browser?
