  • Thanks for letting us know about these. Can you post a bug report in the Bugs section for Scirra to investigate?

It would be pretty blind if Scirra only investigates bugs which are posted on their bugs section.

I am a little tired of posting those little (but still important) bug reports.

Need to spend more time on creative works.

So in this case - I am just letting know about those problems and I hope Scirra's attention would go here

    Peace

  • UPDATE:

Just reproduced it on Chrome for Android... Looks like the problem is on Android too.

  • The new Mac Safari: Performace lower than Chrome's. If the game becomes technically intense (in example pretty much particles) - the game on the new Mac's Safari loses lots of FPS, while on Chrome it's still smooth and cool.

Update: Large bullet object (clouds in example) that moves slow also causes low FPS.

W10 Edge: Screenshots does not save (invoking download of CanvasSnapshot does not work)

and Audio looping lags a little, is not smooth.

W10 FF: Some sounds broken (looks like random sounds. Can’t understand why some of them plays bad) see http://www.crystalgames.space/under and reproduce by crashing into black ghost. Compare it to Chrome to see the difference.

+Positioned sound also plays bad. Please see game http://www.crystalgames.space/saxmanhealer (lvl1 with crows)

Just letting know. It's up to Construct2 developers to what to do next.

    Peace

  • Hello!

Would be great if there was Mac and Windows platforms to select in "is on platform" event.

    Thanks

  • Everyone who wants to make the same workaround as I did, here is the inaudible sound: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/714 ... xSound.zip

    Enjoy;)

  • Bug report here:

  • Problem Description

Sound is still lost under these circumstances:

When device goes to sleep and the looping audio was active it's alright.

But if there was no audio at the moment the device was left inactive - audio is lost (and somehow one of my games becomes buggy and unplayable)

My workaround: Play inaudible sound every 1sec all the time. It fixes the problem (even the latter buggyness..<img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile"> )

  • Though it was fixed pretty well - it's still not completely fixed, as I've reported in my latter post.

I have reported this to Apple. And of course - the more people report the same issue, the more attention the bug will get from Apple.

So I encourage everyone who is struggling with this issue to report it too here: https://bugreport.apple.com/

Also the loading screen messes up a little while loading the game on iOS (reproduced by rotating the device from landscape to portrait and vice versa while loading the game) . Ashley, I am pretty sure You have your own bug list, to quickly add this little new one, so I don't need to create a whole new forum bug post about this little issue)

    Peace

I really appreciate that you are constantly improving Construct2 and keep with us users in a close touch!

I am using newest Chrome for Android + newest C2

The bug was not totally fixed. I posted info on a chromium bugs site - https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/is ... pby=&sort=

    "UPDATE:

Bug is still reproducible in some circumstances. I will mention it below.

*Game's tab is active and game's music playing. I leave it inactive, phone's screen turns off. I come back to the game after a couple of minutes and the sound is not lost and everything is fine. THAT'S WHAT WAS FIXED.

*WHAT WAS NOT FIXED: Game's tab is active and game's music is NOT playing yet (still in menu and start button wasn't yet pressed in example). I leave it inactive, phone's screen turns off. I come back to the game after a couple of minutes and the sound IS LOST and returns only when the game's tab is refreshed (bad:) )"

So in order for this fix to work, the audio needs to be played ALWAYS, which is definitely not true for a lot of games:)

I will try a workaround by playing an inaudible sound every 1 sec just to keep the audio always active. Maybe this will work and I will let You know.

    Peace

  • Ashley

UPDATE: Looks like Chrome devs fixed this problem only for situations, where games had any audio playing at the moment before the problem could be triggered.

In example: if I leave a game to be inactive that has audio playing constantly it will be alright and the audio will no be lost.

BUT if I leave a game inactive which has audio, BUT does not play any at that moment of leave - the game loses sound (and SaxManHealer also becomes buggy...)

    Peace
