  • Something you could try is having an invisible Bar across the window. Keep the bar at the "ground level" by using an image point on you players shadow. Then you could have a variable that triggers when a throw happens.

    "Compare Throw = true"

    "On collision with bar"

Then you just change the sine wave information to make him bounce when he hits the bar.

Alternatively you could just set a Y coordinate that's "Player.Y + number" then do

    Compare Throw = True"

    "Compare Badyguy.Y = Player.Y + (number)"

I haven't played with Sin waves a lot so you'll have to mess around with the settings to get figure out how to make it bounce, but that's how you'd keep them from falling off.

And if all of that is to complicated then you could give the enemies Physics(instead of bullets or Sine) and toggle it on/off for throws and use the bar as a solid object. Then for throw you use "Force at angle" instead of move at angle , and the bounce happens on its own when it hits the solid bar.

  • I know this isn't really a C2 "How to", but this seems the most logical place.

Has anyone figured out how to add ads to the new Universal app through VS2013? I can not for the life of me figure out how to put in an ad into my project. The old way was so simple and now I can't find a single mention of 8.1 ads outside of the "updates and extensions" window.

  • Hmmmm...nice stuff.

  • So I've been playing around with a game using the Autorunner template and I've ran into an issue that I can't seem to figure out.

This only happens after I export to my phone. When I tap the screen to jump, the game seems to stutter for a millisecond causing the layout to basically stop really quickly then resume moving. It's enough to notice the glitch, but not enough to ruin the game, but I'd still like it to not do it.

Any ideas on why this is happen?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Fixed it. Somethings different with the way 8.1 handles Skydrive. I usually have my games stored in Skydrive as insurance in case my pc blows up. In Win8 I was able to save and load to/from the cloud, but with 8.1 I can't load from the cloud onto VS. So moving the folders to my HDD fixed the issue.

  • I think I might still have 2012 on here

  • I updated to 8.1 today, and in the spirit of updating I grabbed the latest beta for CS2. However, now VS won't open my project. Is the WP plugin compatible with the new beta, or do I need to find a work around?

  • WPGamer No current way to do that. For the leaderboard size thing, that's very odd. Is this a Windows Phone App? If so, I take it you followed the Windows 8 App steps to get it to that point?

Yup. LIke I said it's not thta big of a deal, but it would be nice to get it a bit bigger. Also, not sure what the line is across the middle of the log in box.

  • Mayfly WPGamer, you mention you have the latest version of the Clay.io plugin, but are you using the latest version of the CocoonJS on your OS? If so, are you on Android or iOS? Unable to replicate in the latest CocoonJS on iOS.

Neither haha, I'm exporting out of the windows phone. The size is manageable, but it would be nice to have it a tad bigger so it's 100% clear.

Also, is there anyway to have the login screen come up and automatically go to the guest login screen? I've been getting a lot of Anonymous and I think people don't know that you can just go to guest(even though I've told them haha)

  • Has the size issue been fixed? The log in and leaderboards for my game are pretty small. You can still read it, but it can be difficult.

  • WPGamer You need to change it in the manifest file.

The AppManifest? I've done that as well but still get the error with my certification pdf that the app's name in the games hub is still WPPlugin for CS2.

he application's name on a device is a generic name WindowsPhonePlugin, and does not accurately represent the application.

    That's the error

  • WPGamer what happens if you export as HTML, upload, and open in Internet Explorer on Windows Phone?

Not sure haven't tried that yet.

On a side note, I can't pass certification with my first game still cause it keeps saying that the app's name is still "WindowsPhonePluginforCS2." Which it shouldn't be, cause I've changed it in the app properties. Unless there's more places I have to change it?
