I think it's a fantastic idea to post some image creation tutorials.

Many different people use C2, some start off as artists and learn to program, whilst others start as programmers and learn to draw.

The C2 site has plenty of tutorials to help users with program development. It'd be nice to see a few tutorials which could help some of the more artistically challenged amongst us (I'd certainly be one of the first to sign up)!

Good luck and I'll keep my eyes open for some interesting tuts :)

I reckon it would be a great deal of interest to many folk, and a lot more relevant than many of the tutorials I've seen of late. Since without sprites our games would be rather empty looking, I think its still very relevant to Construct 2 (and you did a great job with that soldier sprite you made for Daniel).

There are already many tutorials on Theory which have nothing to do with c2 directly, so one on sprite creation shouldn't cause any problems.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Chances are I will plan something out and write a tutorial up soon enough, but not quite just yet. I have a few things to finish up first.

I don't have anything planned for right now but I would like to know if posting a tutorial on spriting alone with intent on using within Construct 2 would qualify for a valid tutorial post in the tutorial section.

I know there is a 'Graphics' category but the tutorials won't cover usage of construct itself beyond importing the graphics into the application...

I would like to know as I would like to create such tutorials after I get done with what I am working on.

Some browsers like Firefox can give you a detailed memory breakdown in about:memory. You can also use the new ImageMemoryUsage system expression to estimate the image memory in-game.

Also ignore the fonts, as themes do not override them.

It's a nice idea I remember wanting to do something similar a year or so back but I just didn't have enough to back me and why people should join the site, not to mention I didn't have anyone to help with the website end of stuff but this is looking pretty nice so far...

I will keep my eyes on it and see how well it does!

I've made similar ones for my own project but they look a little different of course :P Mine use a different style

Creating such templates seriously helps when you need to create a ton of characters and I am sure that anyone who slightly understands the effort will be purchasing that template :P

Even with minor knowledge of paint you could edit those to make a variety of characters!

Nice work mate... I did think of selling some stuff on Graphic River but it just didn't appeal to me after I looked further into it. How has it been using that as your market place?

The only animation I have left to complete now is the Die animation, I think...

I have completed these so far:

Shoot

crouch

shoot while crouched

Idle

Running

Jump

I will upload in a zip file with all of the .gif's for you tomorrow, I should have finished the death animation by then...

Also, a few edits and you can have yourself an enemy right there too! =]

Sorry for not posting them, I got hired for a small time freelance job and I had to get that out of the way before posting and it took most of my free time on the day I was going to finish and post them.

The Running animation is now pretty much complete. I need to tweak it a little but I have it done, the soldier is running with the gun in his hand...

I'm pretty tired though so I will clean it up and get the jump finished tomorrow =]

Ok, I've just got a new computer so once I have everything installed and setup on that, I will have time to finish up this sprite sheet for you, I will give you what I have at the end of the day either way and just update with the rest on Saturday if I don't finish all of them today, at least that way you can get something going with the sprites while I work on the rest of them =]

This might look bad on my part, but I am helping for free :P but I won't be able to finish these up today either, I have to go and collect a few new parts for my computer and it's going to be rather late when I return home, it's already 20:03 here in England.

Keep checking back though as I will most likely get to it tomorrow, I have little work to get done unless something comes up of course but I don't foresee anything like that happening. =]
