  • Oh wait. Sorry, it works.

  • But that way all my enemies, platforms and powerups will go transparent!

  • DO A BAR-

    Are talking about the platformer tutorial?

    Anyways, you can use the global variables for the system to know when you killed all the monsters. Let's say there are 9 monsters. We'll call the variable "enemies killed".

    You can use the "When destroyed" thing to check if the monster is dead. Then, you are going to use this:

    System-> Add to global variable

    The full event will look like this:

    Enemy:When Destroyed-->Add 1 to global variable "enemies killed"

    Now, we need to add the event that will jump you to the layout when "enemies killed" is equal to 9. That, of course, is what you can do.

  • Here's the deal. I first created a main layer for a platformer game, put all the enemies, platforms, the player and bonuses in there, and after that, I created another layer for the background. I put the background layer behind the main layer and covered the background with tiled background object. I can't see the tiled background! Instead, I see the Main layer's background color: White. The background color is blocking the tiled background! How do I make my tiled background appear in place of the white background?

  • Global variables can be modified using events. There is are special commands if you want to delve into that sh*t.

  • Try Construct 3

    Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

    Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Why global variables? You can use layouts as levels, set all the levels to the same event sheet. All the instance variables are saved. That's about it.

  • Uhm... Hi?

    I am a game developer who was heavily inspired by games on old Nintendo consoles like Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64 and Gameboy Advance. Since I was a small kid I wanted to make games, and recently, I found out that I Wanna Be the Guy was made on Multimedia Fusion. Then I saw an interview from IWBTG creator that said that MMF sucks and Construct is awesome.

    Right now I am developing a game that stars Action Gamemaster, a character from a crappy game called Action 52. I want to make it a very big game that would include all 52 games in a storyline. I will have lots of Nintendo, Capcom etc. characters in there. They don't care if I use their sprites or characters.

    Well, that's about it.
