  • To be honest it was more accident than design.<img src="smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

I've only had C2 for a short time and I am just playing around with different ideas trying to learn and find my way.

This started out as dots (sprites) moving toward where ever I touched the screen. The sprites had random speeds and constantly corrected their direction by rotate towards position. Just altering their speeds and angle they changed direction by gave some pleasing effects ...

  • Thanks for the comments.

I've added a couple of improvements (control the speed of the "lights" and the rate they turn at) which I will try to upload tomorrow.

  • RamPackWobble you only added some function when you click a block while is falling, it doesn't destroy.

? Works here on a pc and ipad - could you try again and let me know what you are running on ? the aliens are smaller than the earlier version in a grid of about 18 X 12 with a FPS display in top left ?

The ideas of using a plug in sounds good - but I've never tried any extra plugins yet (still trying to learn my way around the basic program...)

  • much easier in another program (photoshop / gimp / etc) but if you rectangle select   from the very top of top the image to above where you want to keep (also all the way from the left to the right of the image) then hit delete on keyboard it will remove the unwanted area. Then press the crop transparent edges button. Repeat for the bottom, left and right unwanted areas.

Hope this makes some sense ?

  • try css style "outline" "0" ?

  • Just playing around but looks quite good.

    What do you think ?

    perdy colours

forgot to say just click/ touch somewhere on the screen...

  • There are two text options (that I know of) in C2. one is the general text (ie display some text) and the other is the form control text box.(ie user can enter text here)

If you use the general text display then you can do as you say above but (I guess) because the form control is waiting for some text you don't appear to be able to - except with the "" &variable .

    have a quick look at:

    text box example

  • OK fired up the old laptop and went with option two.

    capx updated.

  • A couple of ideas...

Set some flag that says if anything is falling which is checked before you can start any more from starting to fall

I don't have the code with me, so from memory - when you touch an invader/gem it goes through the ones above and sets them to fall a set distance from their present y pos. I think the problem is that if , while falling, it is set to fall again. Some instance variable that says this this is where I am already falling to so add any further falling distance to this and this new (total) y position is where I will stop falling.

    ah fond memories ....

    I wonder what percentage of these forums will remember proper computers ? <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />
