  • The problem is when i use unpin to unpin the ball from the background sprite it also unpin the shadow from the ball... i wish i could unpin the ball from the background sprite, but not the shadow from the ball.

The problem is that when you run the event, it will run the event for every instance of the object the fits the condition. It will do this unless you tell it to do otherwise.

Every individual object has a unique UID. If you click on the ball and find out what it's UID is, you can choose which specific instance of an object you want to unpin. Just go to the conditions list and add the condition that says pick by unique id.

There is also the possibility of adding a second object that is the shadow and pinning it to the ball. That way you can unpin the ball without unpinning the shadow.

There is also a third possibility, and undoubtedly the best solution, is to not make a specific object to be the ball at all and just create a Shadow Light. Add the shadow caster behavior to the ball and you have a shadow. Just remember that shadow is on the same layer as the light, so putting the light on the highest layer puts the shadow above everything, while putting it on the lowest layer puts it below everything.

  • So until now, I have not touched the tilemap. I have heard many good things about it though, so I decided that I wanted to make a randomly generated city with a tilemap for the sidewalk that the player walks on. I wanted to make it so that each tile on the sidewalk is randomly selected from 17 different tiles on a tilemap, but I don't even know where to begin.

  • Wait... I don't have the latest version of construct 2?

  • Try Construct 3

  • I am very new to construct 2, so I still don't understand what half of these features are. I had another idea that I wanted to try, but apparently there is not event that triggers when an object wraps around to the other side of the layout So unfortunately, I cannot figure out how to do this.

If I had to guess, however, the issue with the idea I showed you is that it can't wrap and move a bullet in the same frame or something like that, allowing the other background to get a head start.

I dunno. Somebody should just make an add-on for it

  • I decided to tackle your problem in Construct 2 and try what seemed like the simplest solution to your problem and set up multiple backgrounds with the bullet behavior and the wrap behavior. The idea is that only one would switch to the other side of the layout, you would see the other one moving up and give you the illusion that the entire level is moving vertically because the backgrounds are infinitely looping.

As you can see, I tried to get the to loop, but even though both scrolling backgrounds were right next to each other, there was a gap between them.

In other words, we need to find the solution to this problem if we want to make a working veritcally scrolling background.

  • So the idea here is a hack and slash fighting game inspired by Bleach. I like where this is going

  • I am a huge bleach fanboy, so I would love to see this as a thing. But copyright would definitely be an issue.

On a side note, my favorite thing about the Bleach zanpakutos is the amount of variety between their abilities. You have the 1000 blades of Byakuya, and you have Ichigo's Getsuga Tenshou (I had to look all of those words up on Google to make sure I was spelling it right). So I would really like to see highly customizable zanpakuto abilities.

  • Hello! I just recently got the free edition of Construct 2 and have so many questions already! I plan on spending a lot of time on the help board, so you will probably see me a lot there
