  • Hey-- i am having a REAL good experience w/ Construct2 !!! One thing i want to ask about-- i have had a layout w/ a bunch of 96x32 blocks on a 4000 x 4000 background-- lots of them. I have some 0 degrees and some 90 degrees and am using "Snap to grid". At the upper left i had one that was 0 degrees overlap 2 that were 90 degrees ( not on purpose-- i was just moving stuff around and they were sitting there briefly overlapping ) && the three of them somehow seemed to "weld" themselves together, && became unselectable, undeletable, unmovable-- they just froze up. I tried turning off snapping, resized them to 32 x 32, and selecting them && a coupl'a other things-- no dice. Ended up deleting that layout and starting again. I am not-- i hope-- the only one this has ever happened to ?? Is there anything to do except "don't do that" ??

  • Hey-- nevermind, I got it to work !!! ( had the quotation marks in the compare instance variables boxes set up backwards ). && am SO glad I didn't have to let tater-head boy there help me !!!

  • Hey-- i have only been working w/ construct2 free edition for a coupl'a days && i have been working through this tutorial:

    "/tutorials/253/how-to-make-a-platform-game" && am really impressed w/ everything so far-- but on page 7, the part about making the snail enemy move back and forth between the "edgemarkers"-- i got everything, as far as i can tell set up "exactly" like the tutorial, but when it loads that enemy won't move. I got it to move right only, and got it to vanish when it collides with the edge marker-- but no dice for changing from "right" to "left" w/ the "System >> Else" event statement from the tutorial. Would anyone be willing to help me debug what i am doing wrong here ?? Sorry if this gets asked all the time && would be grateful for any reply at all. Would post a current version of the project here w/ bug in it if that would help && someone would tell me how &&

  • I don't see how to edit the post i just made-- are you saying that if i export as plain java script, i can open that from the export folder and work with (modify, tweak or re-write sections of ) that ??

  • Hey-- thanks. Yeah, i have the free version now && its terrific-- really. I'm about to buy the paid version here this week i recon. I messed around with a bunch of different products and burned a HUGE amount of money && time finding out that they were toys-not-tools && got pretty discouraged on into last year. This worked straight out of the box on the first try and i am very happy with it on a n00b level.

    What i was asking is this-- in the folder i created when i exported the project to post to the server-- is there a file with the source code of my game in it i can open and modify ?? I got a load of other questions of course, but will stick to this one for now &&

  • Hey-- i have a quick question-- does "No Programming Required" mean "i cannot get access to the source code for my project to work with it" w/ the paid version ?? or can i get at the code ( javascript, etc. ) w/ purchase of the paid version do you think ?? Would be grateful for any reply from the sellers of the software &&

  • Hey-- i downloaded the free version and exported the Space Blaster demo and loaded it to my server to test ( really, it works perfect on my hard-drive in the "Local Host 50000" mode ) and it loads and plays-- but WAY slow-- on Chrome it muddles through, on Firefox it crashes with a white screen. I would LOVE to buy the paid version-- but need to be sure i can get what i make to play correctly on the web.

    I made some modifications to the demo-- but again it plays perfect in Local Host on my hard-drive. Is there something i need to do or am not doing ( as i am a total n00b with this software ) ??
