  • Agreed with everyone above. Without any way to make money developers will get bored and move onto something else. Our games need some way of generating ad revenue, like the way Kongregate works.

    Link to .capx file (required!):

    mediafire.com

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Export project to Scirra Arcade using Construct 2 r134

    2. Submit zip file of game

    Observed result:

Error generated "Zip file is missing a required file"

    Expected result:

Game is not submitted to the arcade

    Browsers affected:

    Chrome: yes

    Operating system & service pack:

    Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit

    Construct 2 version:

    r134 Beta Release

As stated above, there is nothing I can do that will allow games to be submitted to the Scirra Arcade. Even a simple exported project that just has a static image will not work as it should.

My guess would be that there is something wrong with r134's export process, if Scirra Arcade cannot recognize the zip files created by Construct 2.

Please let me know if you find any solutions to this problem. Thank you.

  • I've just updated to r134 and tried to export the project I was working on but the "Minify" option appears to be permanently grayed out, even if I install/reinstall Java. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Here's my Ludum Dare release:

Sadly r127 seems to have a weird export bug so I can't upload a web playable version on the arcade :( Doesn't help that my laptop got a nasty virus on it too.

  • Yep I'm getting the same issue. Wasn't sure whether physics was the issue

  • Yeah I was also suffering from the same problem, but my Scirra uploaded game won't work either... weird.

  • Okay I put together a little example of what I was talking about.

    mediafire.com

This of course doesn't solve the problem of having it turn around a particular point. One way I can think of getting around it is having one object on the ground and the other object in the air at a specific distance away, so you would rotate the object in the air, rather than the entire object itself.

  • What I think you need are objects on the end of the belt, when the blue object hits those then you would get the blue object to rotate.

My advice code wise would be to do this:

    • If object is colliding with Turning Point

    -- Stop object

-- Rotate object by 2 degrees

-- Once object is at the right angle, let it carry on moving again

  • Ok just uploaded a game. Looks like it's all fixed. Thanks again. "Please wait for a moderator to approve this game! Shouldn't take more than a few hours, check back soon."

Not sure if this is intentional but it says I can't submit to Scirra Arcade unless I download the latest release (even though it's an optional beta release).

  • Seems like the submissions still get excepted, the only problem that the "successful upload" page doesn't appear. Best of luck.

  • Thank you

  • Tried to upload my game a few times and kept getting the following page, both on Opera and Firefox.

    <img src="http://s3.amazonaws.com/data.tumblr.com/tumblr_m01r0dsHek1qjvatjo1_1280.png" border="0" />

Game was 28kb, image file was PNG in the correct size.
