  • If you are using the platformer or 8direction behavior you can use the 'simulate control' actions to move AI around according to event logic.

Sines can also be used to move enemies, though that's a little more complicated. Here are some links:

Here's a capx I set up w/ invisible barriers to contain enemies (they just walk back and forth like goomba's)

  • Okay, this is strange...I'm almost sure it was working before...but now it isn't. Hmmm...

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • This is almost certainly not a bug. Don't change an extension on a file to something it's not.

In C2, wav/flac is preferred, but the editor will import all kinds of formats. If your original isn't flac/wav, then don't bother converting it prior to import. Just import it.

Unless you are certain something is a bug, post to the how to forum instead.

  • Umm, the capx you provided is working fine, the sub-event is firing...what is the problem here?

  • The red for the interface seems a little overwhelming. Maybe if you mellowed it out a bit?

  • Can't tell if the birds are supposed to be an instant game over or not. It can seem like the game is wigging out on you. If they are instant game over, maybe add a flash on santa when colliding, and bring him down quicker.

Speaking of which, when you go below the screen, you shouldn't have to wait quite so long to restart the game. It seems like the game goes on for a good 4 seconds afterwards. Should be half that at most.

If you are worried about difficulty, you could just slow the game down a bit (maybe 20%).

Also, here's a little tip: it's always good to make your player collision field a little smaller than their actual sprite. If somebody barely clips a bird and they survive, they aren't gonna worry too much about it...but if they think they should have collided and they do, it's infuriating. Err on the side of leniency.

    Otherwise, it's pretty good.

  • Yeah, thank goodness for crosswalk. It's been great how involved the crosswalk team has been on the forums too.

  • Spawn projectiles using two conditions:

    'Is FireButton down?'

    and

    'every x seconds'

    then spawn your projectiles.

  • Should be pretty straight-forward to make such a game. You might have trouble reaching a BoI level of creepiness though

  • I've had nothing but frustration trying to work with android emulators. It's certainly possible, but endlessly problematic.

If you shop around you can pick up a basic android phone for <$50, sometimes well under. Your game might run a little slow, but at least you can test it on a real device.

  • Ashley, sure he'll sort you out.

  • Yeah, it's been a slow crawl w/ iOS 8. Not as slow as it's going to be for Android L though
