  • That's a lot of downloads for your first version congrats!

It's cool to see Construct being used in this way.

  • Try Construct 3

  • Ooh some of the sounds are very satisfying in this game! Love how the dots move downwards too.

I know you've not asked for feedback but just thought I'd mention these:

    • Music stopped after I clicked to replay after first game, it then felt weird there was no music, perhaps be better if it looped constantly with option to turn it off.
    • Be cool if you could get bonuses for connecting dots in certain shapes. I connected a group of 5 dots in a kind of Z shape at one point but you get nothing extra, scoring seems to be based purely on number of dots, be fun to be able to get bonus points when dots are connected in certain ways. I've attached a mock up image as an example of what I mean, there are 6 dots in a circle at the top, be awesome if you got a bonus for connecting 6 dots in a circle like that. There could be lots of other shapes where you get bonuses for them, rather than just connecting dots in straight lines. For me that would add a lot of depth to the game which makes it much more replayable.
  • A couple of years ago I had a Studio license at Stencyl. I really like working with their blocks to create things, it's great to use and a lot of fun. That for me is a big plus. But there are too many drawbacks. Having not visited their site for a long time after I stopped using Stencyl (because I'd stopped developing any games so I wasn't using any program) I recently revisited it and was surprised to see it hasn't seemed to have moved on at all. It's no exaggeration to say it's been very slow to progress. If you go on their roadmap page it still says their version 3.5 is "coming late 2017", as I write this it's now middle of April 2018 and they've not even bothered to update that page to say the release is delayed and give a new date.

Compared to Construct they don't support as many export options and the support on the forum isn't as forthcoming simply because there aren't as many members. There are some really nice people that use Stencyl and will help out but the number of them is low. The number of people working on Stencyl to develop it is also low, hence the snails pace of their development.

As much as I do like Stencyl and enjoyed using it, at this time I'd only recommend Construct 3. Unless Stencyl suddenly comes out with a huge update and gets a tonne of people onboard developing it then looking to the future it's only likely to fall further back.

  • I really like the idea of a strong 80's game. The demo plays nicely, sounds and graphics are both very cool.

Being strongly 80's it would be fun if you slipped in 80's references as well to the game, perhaps to the most well-known songs or TV programs at the time. It may not be possible in the main game, but on the end screen or in menus. They'd be cool little subtle easter eggs for people who get the references.

  • Hey all,
