  • you can't . I can't remember why tho , I think it's because C2 can't transform javascript to an event-based code , because of all the code that isn't related to C2 wouldn't be compatible with C2 and would thus bug the software

    Import a character image to a sprite ... and make that character image the player's profile !

  • I don't know how the code is optimized in scirra, but an instance variable would be faster to use than a global variable in most cases.

    I hope i am making sense, but that is what i came up with after dabbling in construct 2 for awhile.

    An instance variable is relatively heavier because it is stored for each instances of an object , and a global one is only stored once

    Anyways , check out arrays

    The big challenge is getting your events right , C-7 is working on a big RPG right now , and it's coming along pretty well !

    Making an RPG can be a hard task , and is an extremely overambitious task , as your first project , but it's possible

    Also , If your only needs are RPGs , you could aim for an RPG-based engine , like RPGmaker !

    But at the end , C2 is the best !

  • The game is shaping well , but is a bit vague for now , you might need to introduce a main mechanic to get it out of the crowd ( Like , Ability Stealing for Kirby ; or Mushrooms for Mario ; the whip in Castlevania ; or even Chell's Portal Gun )

    Something unique to the character that makes him special and designed for this epic quest of big proportions

    Otherwise , basic platformer , something I could play for free .

  • because newcomers (and not so newcomers) just seem to not care about the structure of the forums and post wherever they want to.

    Bingo , And that's why we should display the "tips on how to post" as soon as the user creates his account , like other websites do for their rules

    it may be a bit of work to implement , but it will help us on the long term
