  • It sounds like you did not understand yet that making a server from C2 is not possible.

Browsers can't act as a server so your server application HAS to be an external application. All you can do from your browser is the client.

The client will be your application (using the websocket plugin) so it won't make a "cmd window" and still be able to communicate with a server.

But still, your server has to be an application (external to the browser).

You could consider making your server in CC (with the podsix library or scidave's network plugin).

You would still have a window displayed and your user would have to first launch said-server before connecting to it through its IP.

  • Only Ashley could answer this one.

  • Cool effect. Like your other examples, this one's been added to the how do I FAQ.

As far as I'm concerned, the "your creations" part of the forum is more for finished/full games.

Specific examples like this one belong in the how do I forum since it is more technical oriented.

  • It's not possible at the moment.

Also you can't change layout size. You can modify its scale though (as well as layers').

Scaling mode is the best bet, but relies on the size of the browser window and can't modify the original resolution (if your window is 1024X780 and your maximum screen resolution is 1920X1080 the maximised browser will take all the 1920X1080 pixels but scale a 1024X780 "image" to fit this space).

Also since r73 sclaing appears to be buggy a bit (it will surely be fixed in a future release).

  • In the project's properties you have the property window size.

  • You can always use the browser's object "Alert" action that will display a jquery alert window with the message of your choice.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • SpriteFont is a way to display sprites (pictures) of a text. Each sprite displays one letter and is positionned so it looks like formatted text.

  • I was summoned ?

    Oh yeah I see now.

Well, yeah a bit like Weishaupt, I think that question is far too generalist.

    How do you make whatever_game_name_here...

Look at the game, analyze it, see what it does, break it down, process by process.

Then, yes, ask on the forum how to do such specific task or some other.

A lot of those tasks are indeed already listed in the how do I FAQ.

You can also check out the tutorials section to learn about specific and less specific tasks.

  • Be sure also to read (again) how events work this could help you clean out your code.
