  • It's not normal that firefox would crash because of the execution of a HTML5 game.

Have you added extensions or plugins like flash recently ?

Have you updated to firefox 20 ?

This might be worth reporting to mozilla directly.

Also what element in your project could, in your opinion, make the browser crash ? Are you using third part plugin ?

  • What you should look at is the AJAX built-in plugin which is the way to communicate from the HTML5 client to a server.

You would need server-side scripting on your server that would modify the .ini and mysql datas. And this script would get called by the AJAX.

Check the how do I FAQ and the manual for more informations on how to use AJAX.

  • mineet: I don't know what to say, I've just checked again the youtube version too and I wouldn't qualify the sound as low.

For sure it's not produced like a pro show but it's perfectly audible to me.

You might want to put more volume on your speakers and/or make sure the volume for your browser is at an appropriate volume in the windows mixer.

  • Generally, game mechanics don't have copyrights.

The copyrights rather apply to graphical/musical assets and things like characters.

Topic on how to use Git/SVN with C2

Imo, using capx through dropbox with a team (more than 2) is a pain.

You should rather take the time to configure and use project folder.

  • mineet: a trick/known bug on twitch is to lower the sound and put it back up.

This generally does play the sound at "true" full volume.

At worst, you might catch the videos on youtube with no need for this trick.

  • Jase00: You can set instance variables on creation of the object without having to use "wait".

It might be possible that accessing the value in another event but in the same tick as the creation might request to wait for at least one more tick (though I think Ash changed this and it actually isn't true anymore).

But in your and Whiteclaws' examples that "wait 0" trick doesn't make any kind of sense to me. (Or maybe whiteclaws' example is badly formulated, since under a condition I'd expect Action1/Wait/Action2, perhaps this needs reformulating as the wait action would have to happen in a blank event)
