  • Shindoh :I tried that method as well.You see the problem is this ,When a walking animation is already playing while the char is walking and i want to change that animation to a throw knifes animation it won't play the throw knifes animation.It works when i have a lot of sub event's running.why couldn't it just be like when i press x then play the throw knifes animation and when that anim is finished then go back to idle or walking animation , depending on what the char is doing.

    GML makes more sense to me because i am used to scripting rather than drag &drop commands.I made a game with GM where the character has 5 different attacks and 5 different death animations.When i tried the same with Construct using variables and subevent's i only got 3 different anims to work properly.I wish Construct had an option for proper scripts rather than event's.

  • Why is Construct's animation sequences so akward??.I have to go through a lot of sub events just to get the char to go to the attack animation.If it's done incorrectly then the char looks like he is having an epileptic fit.With GM i just change the instance to a new sprite and it work's perfectly ,I tried the same with Construct but still the char goes spastic.

    Is there an easier way to create events for attack , roll , or climbing animations.I do not want to switch over to GM just because of this annoying problem.

    Some help would be appreciated.

  • I would have to say both.Game play is important for any type of game ,but there's nothing wrong with a bit off eye candy as well.I have played some fantastic indie games which had better gameplay than most aaa titles , but the replay value is not that high when the gfx suck.When i play a game for the first time i usually play to complete it.When i go for a second time then i want to admire the gfx and artwork that went into that particular game.

    Casual games can get away with fugly gfx , but hardcore games need hardcore gfx to accompany it.

  • I had to run the awesomium_process.exe first to get the game to work.Looks promising though.

  • Game maker has a steep learning curve ,but once you get use to scripting you can make some pretty impressive 3d and 2d games with it.It's got ogre3d support as well.Construct2 has got a long way to go still before any comparisons can be made.The same can be said for game maker's html5 maker.

    I am still sticking to Construct Classic though, At least until construct 2 can do what classic construct can do.

  • This does not work for me.Im using winxp and when i try to open the exe file nothing seems to happen.

  • Anyone that has recieved an e-mail from the RIAA stating that they have been distributing copyrighted material should note that it's nothing but a weak poor minded scam.The RIAA will never send an e-mail directly to you.They will send the complaint to your isp and your isp will notify you of what is going on.

  • Thank you for the kind words Jayjay.Seems i have been too impatient about the donations because i have been getting quite a few since yesterday.This motivates me to create more and better looking sprites in the future.I will be posting the next free spritepack edition in a few weeks ,So watch this space.

  • Seeing that there's little or no interest as far as donations go i will not be posting any more free sprite packs.Sorry to dissapoint some people but i have no time to produce any more free sprite packs.

  • I agree with mammoth.Inkscape is the easiest drawing app i have ever used.Anyone can create professional looking sprites with this app.And animating the sprites with inkscape is a walk in park compared to other drawing apps.
