Edit: For some reason when I create a box and add a platform behavior to it then try to launch the game I get a run-time error but if I delete the box and then relaunch it works fine. Hmm maybe its just my funky computer?

I would recommend doing a bunch of tutorials and finding some artist that you really like and try to replicate their style the best you can. As time goes by you'll get the feel of their style and be able to create similar.

And make sure you just spend some time each day drawing in a sketchbook or something and im sure before long youll be as good as you want to be.

What kind of style were you going for? Cartoony or a more realistic look? I'm assuming your using vector art with flash. Also do you need help with the animation side of sprites or creating the art itself?

Thx madster. my game is about this kid who wakes up in the woods and he can't remember a thing, he also doesn't recognize the planet he is on or any of the creatures around. He must explore to uncover what happened to him. Kind of similar to metroid style of play where you can't access certain areas without special abilities.

I thought it was great, especially hit girl.

Hello my name is Danny believe it or not and I'm new to this whole game making thing, I've tooled with GM in the past but never really finished anything. Now that I am older(22) I feel I owe it to myself to finally complete something. Hopefully I will make some friends along the way.

I'm more of a artist than anything else, and I feel that working to make a complete game will give me some much needed experience and move out of my comfort zone as far as art, no more half mutated hitchhikers(mostly). So for my first game I've decided to try a more anime-ish look, something I have never done before.
