  • Nice game gammabeam.

Love the graphics & the idea behind it.

    :)

  • Runs nice and smooth here on FF 7.0.1.

Love the chunky graphics, don't change them, colours OK but don't change them chunky pixels.

Love the BRIX font to would be cool if the score and other info was the same. Rojohound made a spritefont example HERE thats if you have all the other characters.

    Keep it up :)

  • Thanks guys.

Hopefully this won't end up too dead like most of my Construct Classic stuff.

    :)

  • Hello again.

Started porting a little platform game I started to Construct 2. I've added quite a bit in a little time and would like to see how the player handles and controls.

    TRY IT HERE - 6th Nov 2011

Old vid of the Construct Classic version is

Controls are the standard C2 controls arrows move - Shift Jump.

You can't die yet so just throw yourself around the level.

  • Very cool, only problem is that hearts stopped spawning for me after the 3rd or 4th =/

Yeah I've had that happen can't seem to pin down why it does.

That is a very cool game! I really like that retro graphic feel too. I grew up playing a whole lot of ASCII games.

I think the graphics of the original put many people off. I was going to change them but still had the files so they got reused.

    Hi,

The game is good and the style of the graphics of this game is special.

    <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle" />      <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

I like a bigger game screen(800x600) but the current size of the game screen is also nice.

Thanks. A bigger screen might be OK but I don't think the browser will cope with more echoes on the screen.

Hey, May be a problem but chrome crashes after i get like 20 hearts because the scripts use up too much memory.

Thought something like that would happen I have an array storing the data for the echoes to follow it's probably that. Still it was a fun experiment in Construct 2.

    Thanks guys <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Hello all.

I've ported an old Construct Classic game of mine to Construct 2.

    It's called Echo Thrust.

The aim is simple collect the hearts on the level. Each time a heart is collected an echo of yourself is created an follows the path you took, you must avoid these echoes, the more hearts you collect the more echoes are created.

    You can play it HERE

    Post your scores :)

If you not busy with something else, could you attempt this algorithm-

    http://properundead.com/2009/03/cave-generator.html

I mean the first one, in which the array is subdivided in each pass.

I've looked into this before and got nowhere with it. I'll have a look again though but suspect it's way beyond me.

I like these examples a lot!

After reading an article I found through abhilash2863's blog, I had a go at it myself. I tried to stick to the method as it was being described as closely as possible.

Also I couldn't resist and used the newly released Data Structures plugin to create the "miners", which seemed like a weird idea at first but worked out surprisingly well:

    <img src="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2306601/cavetest.png">

I didn't manage to get the cave completely cleaned up yet as you can see, although most of the cluttery parts have been eliminated.

I want to have another try at it, probably solely using the S plugin. Once I'm satisfied I will also post the cap.

    Nice one PixelRebirth

  • Thanks for the example Minor!

I tried to replicate the same thing, but using array. Here's my attempt-

No problem. Nice work I was going to do an array version myself eventually but never got round to it.

I'm going to go back to this soon an see how far I can expand it.

  • Expanded my prototype with deadeyes help. And also created 2 quick puzzle levels using the same mechanics.

Yeah, I JUST NOW recorded that! It's only about NINE THOUSAND YEARS OLD

I remember seeing this when I first discovered Construct. Still looks like a hell of a lot of fun. And mind bending.
