  • This is corrected in the next build. When you change direction, the deceleration and acceleration are added.

Woho! Thank you very much, this will really help improving the platform behaviour.

  • I too have found this problem rather annoying, since its impossible to have a character that accelerates slower than he decelerates and still having the movement relatively sane. However, I would say that its still a problem if you have a higher acceleration than deceleration since this will still provide a slower change of speed than it should. I guess what Im saying is that acceleration and deceleration should always be summed together when turning around. Also, in my opinion, any good platformmovement should have higher deceleration than acceleration (as in Mario, Sonic, Wonder boy and many others) and this is simply not doable right now (at least without making some events of your own). I actually for a time thought this was something that was going to be fixed, but now I have learned to manage anyway.

  • [quote:1v2welc3]And I'm afraid I don't know what you mean about Lesson 5. I can move to the right just fine. Is anyone else having this problem?

Well, it is my keyboard actually. Different keys belong to different groups and so on, and apparently, on my keyboard, pressing down right, x and z at the same time is too much which results in nothing happening. So it's not your fault, but my, and maybe some other peoples, keyboard which has limitations in the hardware.

My real problem was that when I tried to change the keys in the applications propereties it just affected the animation, and not the movement. So when I pressed my new right key I saw the rightrunning animation, but Charlie was standing still.

Oh, and thanks for the help with lesson 4, I got it from the Wiki.

  • Great lessons, theyve thought me things I didnt even know I was missing. However, and Im sorry to say this, Ive found some problems in lesson 4 and 5. In lesson 4 everything works fine, except the moving platforms. For some reason Charlie seems to have higher speed than the platform and is there fore being pushed of. Strangely enough does this problem not occur in lesson 5. Any changes, perhaps? My problem in lesson 5 is instead that I cant run and jump to the right, just to the left. I do know that this is a keyboard issue, but at least I think people should be aware of it, and the real issue in this case was that I wasnt able to change the controls in Construct. Does any one know why?
