  • I thought of that, but I thought Construct would stop installing if I canceled anything. Maybe it didn't. I'll be sure to try again when I can. Thank you.

  • I'm not exactly sure if this would be possible (license conflicts, or something of the sort) but would it be out of the question to have a Construct installer that doesn't require an internet connection?

    The PC I use to create and play games on has no internet connection, and therefore I can't just transfer the Construct installer via a flash drive or CD. I thought about letting everything install and just moving that stuff, but I don't know what I'd need.

    Is it possible to have an installer that does not require the internet, or perhaps that doesn't try to install anything but Construct? (I have the DirectX and whatnot, just need a copy of Construct that doesn't have a certain bug.)

    Haven't posted in a long while, but I've been craving some Construct and would greatly appreciate a solution to this.

  • I've played Rockman a long time ago, too long to remember but I'd still try this if you had a good game going. There are a lot of sites offering free resources, and ripped sprites so it shouldn't be too hard to find those things. (Even if you want new sprites / music, the free ones provide structure and give you an idea of what you need)

    Also I have an idea for a game. It's called Geek Roulette.

  • As far as I know it's your keyboard. My old one supported 4 simultaneous keys while my new one handles 3. I hear others supporting at least 7.

    For instance, here's a keyboard that can support 7 simultaneous keys at once.

    "Registers up to 7 simultaneous key-strokes, in comparison to 2-4 on most other keyboards! Jump, move forward, lean left, change weapons and shoot at the same time!"

    Edit: Misread your post. I don't know if there is a workaround, I guess it's a built-in limit for your keyboard.

  • Thank you, I will try that later after finishing some stuff up. I messed around with it a bit after my edit and I got it to display all the values, except it would move one row down after each entry, but hopefully your method won't have the problem.

  • I'm constructing a game where the player pilots a ship that can use various equipment. So far, I've created an array to store ship data, which looks something like this:

    Name Image Space Weapons Speed
    Name Image Space Weapons Speed
    etc...[/code:2q19lrf2]

    As far as I can tell, that part goes smoothly. But I am having trouble populating a List object with my data. I know how to do it in pseudo-code, but not sure how I would translate it into events.

    Basically, I set up my arrays. (In the future, I will just load them.) Then I set up my list with four columns (image is excluded, that's just what sprite the ship uses)
    |Name|Space|Weapons|Speed|

    My trouble is looping an event to give the List all my array info. I'd imagine it would look something like this:
    [code:2q19lrf2]
    yLoop (arraysizey times)
    {
       xLoop (arraysizex times)
       {
          populate column by column
          ++array_x
       }
     ++array_y
    }
    [/code:2q19lrf2]

    Can anyone shed some more light on how to accomplish this using events, and a bit more info on the List object? I want my events to be as flexible as possible for when I start adding more data to my arrays. Right now it doesn't input any data at all, and I could upload my broken .cap if anyone wishes to see.

    Edit:
    I took out loops and just used variable comparisons, and now it's 50% working. It gets everything into the List, except it's in one column. I now need to put each item into a different column. Any help is appreciated.
  • Pretty fun game! I like the music and the idea behind it, reminds me of some good ol' RPG puzzle games.

    Two things though, 'r' doesn't seem to work on the last level, and babelfish couldn't translate "Obrigado" from the ending, although I assume it means thank you.

    I'd like the see a 'second' version with more levels, more polish, and maybe the option to play without effects.

  • Are there any speed improvements? The old one was hosted by a user if I'm not mistaken, and I'm just wondering if a larger host would have better bandwidth than the last guy.

    Other than that, I hope to learn more about Construct in the future to help with documentation. Right now my only suggestion is a template or tutorial page that shows good tutorials. I know someone already said they would rather keep tutorials on the forums and documentation on the wiki, but some basic tutorials would fit nicely in the wiki environment.

    Just my two cents.

  • Hmm, I understand then. Well eventually I'll get there, but I don't need a signature that bad

  • I scaled it down by 50% for viewing purposes.
