  • From my experiences in the design industry so far, I have come to notice similar reactions from companies as Ashley mentioned. They are somewhat focused on obtaining 100% saturation of their product, even to the 15% of people who will never buy it anyway...

I think HTML5 is certainly the future for the internet, and specific facets of gaming as we know it now. While it's a shame that it's a little "ahead of it's time" I believe focus has already shifted towards the standardization of the technology, through all major browser authorities.

I look forward to, and welcome HTML5 as it will take the entire interactive experience to the next level. Not only for gaming, but general web browsing and interaction.

If only the "powers that be" were willing to wait.

  • Moved to correct section.

"Help Wanted" is meant to be "Help for Hire" not, "Something doesn't work, please help" just for future reference.

Please take the following as advice, not an attack on you personally:

If you feel something is complex to explain and asking for help, upload a cap or draw a diagram in paint. The issue you are having sounds simple and, unless you are doing something wrong, should be fairly straight forward (easy), even for a beginner.

Asking other members to make everything for you will likely end up getting you less help in future. Most people here don't mind helping, just show you are learning by trying to solve the problem a little yourself first. We understand what it's like to be using Construct for the first time, and are more than happy to assist most of the time.

Uploading your cap file will help us understand you far easier as well, and if often the best way to get proper assistance with your problem(s). Demanding people do things will also be looked at unfavorably, as we are often busy with our own projects and have (sometimes) better/more important issues to address. Again, this is not designed to attack you in any way, it's just common practice around here :)

Welcome to the forums, by the way :) Nice to meet you.

  • Hi guys,

As a lot of you know I did the website for Monjava Coffee which is now LIVE! (yay)

You can check it out here:

    http://www.monjava.com.au

I have a small but significant problem though, that I am unable to solve.

    http://117.55.224.217/~monjavac/

that is linked to the root directory

Paste that on your facebook and the thumbnail comes up...

then you paste that one - monjava.com.au

and it doesnt work for some reason completely unknown to me.

Any ideas? I'm completely lost :/

  • I agree with Arima.

The best way would be to either divide it up and have sections that required screen transitions, or fake it by using unbounded scrolling (unlimited scrolling layout) and load the data/scenery based on player position, using an array or similar method.

  • The first Comic Con to hit Austraila

I think the coordinators didn't expect such a massive turnout. The lineup was over 2 hours to get in (but when we got there we were only an hour... the line stacked up hard after we were already in).

It was a success, with hopefully future events to follow.

I got my "The Walking Dead" Compendum One, signed by Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon for anyone who watches the show). Got to shake his hand and have a quick chat while he was signing. My first celebrity that I've physically touched :D Sadly I missed the Norman Reedus panel and the preview to the Walking Dead season 3 stuff, thanks to being in the flarking line to get in for so long.

So anyway there were cosplay girls EVERYWHERE (there were guys too but, meh) and some serious merchandise sales. I wish I had a few thousand dollars spare, but I don't so I had to limit myself to $160 give or take $10. Oh, Lara crofts *** cheeks were a little red and chaffing from her webbing gear (all those straps that hold her, um, guns... for those of you non tactical gear fans) and the Gears of War girl looked like she was literally going to chainsaw someone in half.

I would post some photos except I didn't really take any because the pace was so jam packed with people you could hardly move let alone get any good shots on my crappy phone camera... so I left that to the pros. If you're interested I'm sure after the weekend there will be some pro blog reports and photos up for grabs around the place.

So there you have it.... Austrlia's first Comic Con (and hopefully not the last!)

I think what he is trying to say is, if the software was purchased, these problems would not be problems.

    the marked one

Have you tried using object locks to stop some objects from being selected? Not sure if this is available in the free version, but pretty sure it is.

I think the big news has been missed somewhere along the line... flash on iOS... WHAT?! SINCE WHEN?!
