Fantastic! Its better than tiledBG, since it allows for changing angles (you'd have to have lots of empty space around the edge of everything for tiledbg to change angle).

Setting 22 values in an event doesn't sound like it would cause lag, how many bullets do you need to make per tick? Maybe you need to optimise other parts of your code?
How come the comments are in reverse order on the main site?
