  • Is there any "container" which allows to position all elements inside relatively to container?

    I have some form elements (not sprites), which should have static position relative to popup window drawn in game, and the popup window has to be bound to current window scroll.x and scroll.y position, so when the game scrolls somewhere - the popup window goes with it.

    Only way I found is to create any window element, and add Anchor Behaviour to it,

    then for every element inside add Pin Behaviour and set them pinned to popup window.

    Project loses its clarity, when I need to add same pin behaviour for every new Interface element.

    I decided to use platform movement for "enemies" such as jumping frogs.

    Player and Frogs use the same Platform Movement Behaviour, and I simulate enemy movement by using "Simulate Control Left/Right" and "Simulate Jump" actions.

    The problem is, that Game player use keyboard keys for movement... and when any arrow is pressed, also enemies are reacting to the keyboard commands, so both player and enemies are jumping at the same time.

    There is an option to start ignoring controls for enemies on start of a layout, but when it's used, enemies completely stop moving, even with "Simulate Control" action.

    It works event better on Node-Webkit project, It allows application to load files both from localhost and remote servers (cross domain requests).

  • It's created as construct project with a simple ajax conditions to load available files in any web folder capable of running php script.

    What it's for?

    Automated loading data files in a web folder. For example: plugins for application, maps for games or items contained in a separate files.

    Files:

    What's required:

    • Running PHP server for generating file list
    • Web folder on the same server for publishing construct application (ajax does not allow cross domain requests)
    • Web folder with any files to be loaded into our application

    How it works:

    1. App sends request to list.php file

    2. list.php generates Json with file list from the same folder

    3. App receives Filenames in Json and loads them into dictionary object as file0 = "aaa.txt", file1 = "bbb.txt" and so on

    It is fun to do some research on Dune reproduction, but I'm more into graphic design instead of programming, so it would take quite a lot of effort to recreate whole game, but if there would be a few people interested in joining in maybe things could go forward

    You are all right about the copyrights. Probably I couldn't use a "Dune" name and any of copyrighted graphics, even the old ones, so let it be like it is as the eyecandy for RTS players and makers

    BUT

    There is some resources to makea new pixelart rts.

    There are graphic artists who still make pixelart rts mockups.

    There are game makers. There are even 8bit audio makers.

    It's just hard to build everything from scratch for one person.

    Yeah I miss the good old one simple RTS mechanics in new games too.

    I find playing Open Red Alert better than Red Alert 3.

    Or Total Annihilation than Supreme Commander, and so on.
