Notes

After a busy several weeks adding new features, plus some time off for the winter holidays, we're now focusing on moving towards a new stable release. So now our attention turns to bug fixes and other changes aimed at reliability and robustness. Hence this release is mostly bug fixes and maintenance work.

We have got a few last smaller additions in for this release as well, including a couple from our new feature request tracker. These include reorganising the JSON object's categories, and allowing Sprite's 'Set animation frame' action to accept a string of an animation frame's tag. There's also some more new examples. Happy testing, and hopefully we can have a stable release coming out in the next few weeks!

  • This release has nice additions and bug fixes, but there are also new bugs that destroys literally your entire project if not saved

On projects with an open flowchart, trying to close this tab specifically crashes the game engine, and when the button "save open projects" on the crash screen is clicked, they are not saved. And in a completely random moment when using the sprite editor, layouts cannot be visualized and when the page is refreshed, it does not solve the problem

I have lost big changes to one of my projects because of these incidents and had to do them all over again from memory and i hope the next update solves these problems

  • Awesome to see three suggestions added so quickly, ty!

  • Nice to see passing tag for 'Set animation frame', I remember needing that in a project.

  • About Add 'Get addons' link when adding object/behavior/effect.

Currently a lot of old broken addons are still sorted to top making discoverability a bit bad. They are no longer applicable in the current version, or the original author has given up maintenance.

Hopefully that a filtering rule can be added to only base on the voting in the recent year - and make it the default. so that new plugins are more likely to be seen, rather than historical accumulated votes.

    • addition: If accessed through links, the website should automatically activate specific filters, depending on the plugin/behavior/effect.

  • Always happy to see these great user suggestions getting implemented, thanks!

  • Hi! Can we get a Windows Store plugin again with the new Xbox / UWP exports? 🤔

(can we finally upload normal .exe files or still only UWP app?)
