Notes

We're continuing to work towards a stable release, ideally before the end of the year, and so this release focuses on reliability. There are however some more improvements for using the new timeline audio tracks feature, such as previewing audio when playing in the editor.

Other than that there's mostly bug fixes, including for a couple of regressions in the previous release, and more timeline related fixes.

  • WOW! you heard me out! I'll be testing this out soon, but thank you and I apologize for the harshness I wrote when the feature was first realeased. I look forward to this!

  • Can you please add Z angle that I mentioned in the R273?

It's going to be useful for developers if you add it.

  • Thanks a lot! Mainly for fixing these two bugs (invert and loading) it was real pain for me. :))

    Good work.

  • Why do I feel that some of these comments are not LEGIT, I mean that some of these post are created by the Construct Team !!!

  • Please, would you be able to leave the debug view mode, the same as in Construct 2?

Because in Construct 3, after separating the debud viewports, if I need to restart, the windows come together again!

I spend a lot of time having to adjust the window whenever I need to use preview debugging!

unluckily i don't know how to use the timeline

  • Initially was disappointed in the audio timeline feature, but this really makes it very useful!

One question: how accurate is the audio timing in the timeline? Like does this stay very accurate over long animations (I'm specifically thinking about using this for rythm games)

It's difficult to tell how accurate it will be over long periods of time. Mainly because the audio playback is not directly linked to the playback of the timeline. The timeline works more like a trigger than anything else. There is some effort to make sure the time a sound starts to be played matches the time kept by the timeline as closely as possible.

I would suggest to try it out for the test cases you are interested in, and see if it fulfils those requirements, before delving into any serious work.

  • very nice!
