Notes

This release has a few various updates, and more bug fixes. We're hoping to get a stable release out soon so please test carefully and let us know about any remaining issues.

The Dark & Light themes have been updated in this release, and there are a couple of minor feature additions as well, like a new way to detect Instant Games features (since support for 'Switch game' on iOS was recently removed) and some keyboard shortcuts to close find results. The Z Order Bar should now be faster in large projects, and we've got a batch of fixes for the C3 runtime, Animations Editor, Timeline Bar and more.

Instant Games support in Free Edition

Currently the Instant Games plugin and export option are supported in the Free edition of Construct 3. Since the Instant Games platform allows for monetisation through ads (and also IAP although the plugin does not yet cover that), and the Free edition is not allowed for commercial use, support for Instant Games will be removed from the Free edition in the next release. If you are using Instant Games in the Free edition please purchase a plan to continue using it in future.

  • Thank you!! That pasted crop disappearing thing actually cost me quite a bit of work...

  • You folks finally updated the dark theme! It took sooooo long but it's finally here, thanks.

  • Thanks for the update! Specially the intant games one

  • thanks!

  • Thank you "Nepeo" and "Ashley" for supporting "Cordova Variables" in the SDK. This will really help.

    Thanks a lot!

  • Inspiring, you guys work so hard each day and haven't gone lazy mode for weeks!

  • "Can now bind a PluginProperty to a Cordova variable" where can I add cordova plugins?

  • It surprises me that there are still so many crashes and bugs while C3 is already 2 years old. It kinda holds me back from purchasing C3 even further, next to the recurring payments. A program when released should be nearly bug-free and 'finished' not a work in progress. Reminds me of those 'Early access' games, except your paying much more and on a yearly basis. And are project changes lost when a crash occurs? What about other browser tabs there were open?

These are beta releases, which as you can see on the site are marked as being less stable. If you don't want to risk extra crashes, simply stick to the stable releases. Further, even if Construct does crash, the crash dialog provides an option to recover your projects; however as with any digital work, you should always keep separate regular backups just in case.
